Chris proposed to me on Dec. 4th, 2003. It was unique. We were in college in Clarksville at the time and he told me we were going to have dinner with his parents in Brentwood. As we got closer, Chris got a call and told me his parents were running late. We went to Crockett Park in Brentwood. It was cold and misting out. Chris wanted me to get out of the car to go look at something. I noticed he was getting a rope out of the car. (I was not so sure at this point what was going on.) We went over to a little bridge where Chris stood behind me with his arms around me. He took out two pieces of rope. Using the rope, he made different knots going along with stories about how people's lives intertwine. Finally he made a knot that could not be untied when it was pulled on from either direction. Chris said that some people's lives become so intertwined that the more pressure is exerted, the tighter they become. He then turned me around and knelt down with the ring box and popped the big question. It was definately a memorable night! (BTW, we did end up meeting his family for dinner.)
