Obviously, live and more frequent communication would be much more preferable:) At the time I live in Lithuania where I dance and study Glass Art.And I really look forward to seeing Ausra and Deepan next summer.

Hi, I'm Chirag and I have known Deeps since we met in medical school. Although at first glance it didn't seem that we had much in common since the first few weeks I new him all he talked about was ultimate frisbee and an amazing patriotism from Canada that I just didnt know how to handle, when I really got to know him we ended up we have a ton in common and have led very parallel lives since which is why we've become such good friends. Interestingly we are both originally from the same part of Canada (me being much less red and white) yet we are both Indian-ish:), we both went to school in chicago, we both ended up being ophthalmologists and now we are both getting married within 2 weeks of each other in the same city! I temporally live in Denver right now and am really looking forward coming home and celebrating with Deeps and Ausra.

Hi, my name is Lina and have known Ausra for 17 years, and, yes, we met very very young. I was introduced to her by our mutual friend, our neighbor Jurga, who met her in Minneapolis. Our friendship was built by sharing a passion for Indian movies. This leisurely pursuit did not have such a vivid impact on my personal life as it did on Ausra. Ausra and I lived on different continents for the most of our friendship. We always managed to stay in touch and even to participate in important events in each other’s lives. Ausra is my son’s Kasparas God mother and I am thrilled to be a bridesmaid at her upcoming wedding. I will be flying to Toronto from Columbus, OH where I live with my husband Ben, 10 year old son Kasparas and 18 month old baby girl Audre.

I'm Dave. I met Deepan in grade 10 English class in Saskatoon. We had some pretty heated road hockey games in a church parking lot beside Deepan's house. We've pretty much lived in different cities for the last 10 years but we've always managed to stay in close contact and had lots of fun during various meet ups. I currently live in Ottawa, Ontario where I am a policy analyst for the federal government. Really looking forward to Deepan and Ausra's wedding this summer!

I met Ausra during the first few days of med-school, and immediately we found several things we had in common: same age, same year of moving to the States, and we could speak the same language - other than English. (Кстати, твой жених довольно-таки симпатичный!!) Oh, and we're also the same height! Since then we made it through some fun times and some tough times, and were always there for each other, though mostly from several thousands miles apart. I was honored when she asked me to be a part of her wedding, and am really looking forward adding a saree to my already overflowing wardrobe (what are you doing to me???). I am very excited about seeing Ausra's family again and meeting (finally) her other half (btw, I can believe all the work you put into this website, is this for real?) Can't wait to see you all in Toronto!

I met Deepan in Saskatoon through a random association of indian people and also while goofing off with Alex in gym class. I registered him for his classes at McGill our first year of university and since then we've pretty much led parallel lives, mine being much cooler and more sophisticated :) I'm currently in Washington DC, doing an ophthalmology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. I'm glad that he has finally found his (much classier and beautiful) true love. Salud!

Hi! I’m Raina and I have been lucky enough to live in the same city as Deeps for the last 8 years. We met in North Chicago in medical school where Deeps always made people laugh and kept things interesting with his pranks. From late night karoke, endless hours of dancing, and potlucks, our group definitely spiced up CMS! In Rochester, we continued the fun and Ausra and I had our own dance parties! Ausra is truly a gem, and we all had a blast together. I currently live in Scottsdale, AZ and am doing my Cardiology fellowship. Can’t wait for the wedding!

Hi,

I'm Joby. I first met Deeps in June 2001 during medical school orientation in Chicago. I remember him standing up in front of the class (in pro-Canadian gear), announcing that he wanted to start up weekly games of Ultimate Frisbee. Me, being from Texas, had absolutely no idea what he was talking about...frisbee?... ultimate?... what is that?..... how 'bout some football?!!!

For the next few weeks, I was continually being harassed by half the class. They would come up to me, pat me on the back and tell me, "ultimate frisbee is a great idea!" and asked, "when are we starting up ultimate!?" I politely reminded each person, that I wasn't deeps, I didn't play ultimate and that I was at least 6 inches taller than him.

Despite this, we've become close friends. I'm very happy that he and Ausra have found each other and am looking forward to the festivities in Toronto. I currently live in Connecticut and by the way have become a huge fan of Ultimate and I think he respects football now... at least Madden.

HI!

I'm Sarah. Ausra and I first met during our intern year in Minneapolis, where we suffered through rotations having nothing to do with our own specialties, namely Obstetrics/Gynecology! But we became fast friends through many tough times that year and have remained close since. Ausra has graciously supported me during my wedding in Louisiana (my home state) by being a great bridesmaid and I am happy to be doing the same for her. Currently I am living in Minneapolis with my husband Ric and son Sebastian and enjoying my practice as an anesthesiologist. I can't help but feeling partially responsible for the beginning of the relationship of Ausra and Deepan, since the magic all began for them in my living room! I think it was the dance moves of Deepan with my dog Lucy that really won Ausra over that evening. I can't wait for the celebration in Toronto!

Hello everyone!

I’d just like to start by saying what a pleasure it will be to have a microphone at Ausra and Deepan’s wedding. As Deepan will tell you, I’m normally a quiet person. However, I’m pretty sure that I’ll find something to say when the time comes. Count on some reminiscing (embarrassing stories…) and reconnecting (…about Deepan).

I also wanted to say that I’m looking forward to co-MCing with Seetal. We met in Toronto just over a year ago and she was wonderful! Although I don’t see her mention anything about me in her write-up, I’m sure she’s thrilled to be working with me too.

Folks, I don’t want to oversell this wedding but it’ll be better than 10 Superbowls or, if you’re Canadian, 5 Gray Cups! I can’t wait to meet you all. Let’s give Ausra and Deeps the best wedding imaginable!

Hey all! I've known Deeps for nearly 10 years, since 1st year in med school. We met somewhere between flag football when I was on a team whose #1 rival had 3 of my future roommates on it...including Deeps, and the dance floor. You know that boy can move!

Then it was on to trips like the Bahamas. Great times! Deeps actually got us to play ultimate frisbee in the hotel pool. Our group of 10 or so took the pool over and played till it was too dark to see the frisbee, only to realize that our feet were so raw from the pool floor that the girls, in our heels, made it about two doors down from the hotel for dinner to sabarro!

Organizing reunions and trips became Deeps's thing. That's one of the first times I met Ausra, in Toronto, in the middle of January. Deeps was a great tour guide and took us to the frozen Niagara Falls and then to the beautiful temple where they are to be married. I knew they were meant to be when I could see her genuine interest in all the things that make Deeps, Deeps and when she could keep up with him on the dance floor. And of course, when I saw that Deeps was completely smitten with Ausra!

I am so happy for the pair of you...and Deeps I am so sorry about Betsy (his frog that I let die, when we were all roommates in our 4th year).

Can't wait for the celebrations!

Beside playing high school football and rugby at university, I graduate this spring with a B.S. in computer science. I wish Ausra and Deepan a happy married life!

Hola, me llamo Karolis. Every time I introduce myself I need to explain that it's not Carlos. There, now with that out of the way, I can tell you something about myself. I am Ausra's brother and I try to be there for her when I can. For example, when I heard she was moving to Miami, I was more than happy help and I even spent a few extra days there to make sure she was settled in. The most interesting thing about me is that I'm an aspiring comedian. Sometimes I go on stage and, like, just talk about stuff and people laugh. It's fun. I try to be the spice in life. Sri Lankans like spices, right?
