An Autumn Affair

The ring:

In April 2007, Matt and I went to NJ for my cousin's wedding. While we were there, him and another one of my cousins, Eric, went to the jewelers and Matt bought the ring! That night, at the wedding, he told Nanny (my grandma) about the ring! Besides Tina and Eric she was the first one to know. And she kept the secret for 2 months!!

Asking Permission:

In May 2007, Matt asked both my mother's and father's permission to "have my hand".

Aruba:

In June 2007 we went on vacation to Aruba with Belinda and Dan, and Tina and Eric.

On June 10, Matt took me to a quiet stretch of beach so we could watch the sunset. Unfortunately it was the only night it was cloudy out, so we sat for a while and talked. We were getting ready to leave and Matt got up first and took my hand to help me up. I stood up, he continued holding my hand and he got down on his knee. Than he said, "Danielle, will you marry me?"...I said "of course", than he dropped the ring in the sand...picked it up...and put it on my finger!

It was dark out by this time...so I couldn't wait to get back in our rental Jeep to see my ring!

**After reading this, Matt reminded me that when he asked me to marry him, first I said, "are you serious?", and he told me to "just answer the question", THAN I said "of course!" :)**

Even without the sunset...It was perfect!
