Exciting Update!

So I'm sitting at work on lunch reading Weddingbee and up pops an email from Jas saying he talked to Jason T. and he would love to officiate our wedding!

Jason T. is one of Jas's friends and he is the youth minister for an Apostolic (forgive me if its wrong) Church in Southern Illinois.  Jason T. and Jas have known each other since high school and he was my first pick to have officiate our wedding.

Jas and I have differing beliefs and we believe it is a personal issue.

Having Jason T. officiate our wedding makes me so happy because he knows Jas's beliefs and yet he's from a christian faith and can bring both elements into our wedding.  I'm so excited, I seriously almost cried when I got the news!  So thats the update!

Lots of Love,

Sunny

P.S. I love this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiN0 and any Rock the Reception stuff but Jason doesn't dance so darn it!

Quick Update - Football's starting in 6 mins.

So Ang and I took Jason to our wedding location, Rustle Hill Winery, yesterday and he loved it.  I'm so happy that he liked it, we also tried their newest wine which is a semi-sweet white that doesn't have a name or bottle label yet so they'll only sell it by the glass but it was amazing.  We cannot wait for our big day, now I'm just waiting to see how the construction goes at Rustle Hill!  Now, Football!

Well its been 5 months . . .

So in the past five months, I've begun and finished a semester of my master's degree, picked an amazing location, picked a date, and picked out some great Save-the-Dates.

We'll leave out the school part thats just boring.

We (mostly I) picked a great location that met all of our requirements

-1.  We could have an outdoor ceremony

-2.  There was a location for the band.

-3.  There was indoor and outdoor space, if it should rain.  (I'm stating this as a fact because it is me and I don't have the best luck, if I cannot work and make it happen, I cannot be guaranteed it will.)

After looking at countless sites online and calling many more.  I found 2 that I loved and that met Jason's geographic requirements.  Rustle Hill Winery and Historic Bell Hill Manor, both of which are in Cobden.  My FMIL (Future Mother in Law), FGMIL(Future Grandmother in Law), MOH (Maid of Honor), and I checked out both locations.
We started at the Winery and going in I really believed that I would like the Manor better, but Rustle Hill was beautiful, all of the pictures I had seen online, hadn't done it justice and by 2011 they would have a reception center that would have indoor/outdoor space for 200.  I don't know if it was that I knew I'd found it or what but the manor although stunning inside was almost twice the cost of the winery and all of planning/renting was on you.  There is an event coordinator at the winery who will not only help before hand but will be there day of.  I'm a worrier and this just seemed to be perfect for me, not only the manor had nowhere to go in the rain, our only option would be a tent. . .

Next we picked a date.  Well actually we orginally wanted a fall wedding so we were thinking mid-sept. but due to some problems with the bands' schedule and the fact that I absolutely did not want it to be cold on our wedding day, mind you 78 is cold to me.  We were already considering a June date and then I realized my grandparents were married on June 10th, my grandparents, well now my grampa and I are very close, which made it obvious to me that this was perfect, so I start looking at June 10th as a date and of course you ask, when is the next year it falls on a Saturday?

Surely its not much farther away than 2011, right?

WRONG, 2017 is the next time that June 10th is a Saturday.  So June 11th, 2011 it is.  It is not the date I wanted though its darn close and I love the 6/11/11 because I'm a numbers person and I'm weird.  Although I considered moving the date to Friday, We have so many oot (out of town) guests that I just couldn't do it.

Finally Save the Dates which I won't send out for another year, but I'm getting prepared.  From the very beginning my one request for the reception was that we have an old-fashioned photobooth for  our guests, first for the guestbook and secondly for funny pictures as the night progresses.  I'm a huge silly faces person and cannot wait to have these wonderful pictures to cherish.  Well I'm a WEDDINGBEE.com lover, it is my obsession and one the wonderful ladies mentioned that she used magnetstreet for her save-the-dates and I got to looking and they have an awesome one that incorporates all of this into it, but thats all I'm saying, you'll have to watch your mailboxes in 12 months . . .

So although its been 5 months some things have got done, and I've considered lots of different options.  Next time I'll tell you about an untraditional tradition we'll be incorporating in our wedding.

Lots of Love,

Sunny

P.S. I had to include a couple funny face pics for your enjoyment.  They are below!  There's also some shots of Rustle Hill Winery, these show my not so photography skill, but google it and you'll see more.  As stated pictures do not do it justice.

its only been a month and . . .

So saturday my parents and sisters came over to help us plant flowers and I had my ring off so it wouldn't get messy. Well shortly after everyone left we were standing in the kitchen and I had a minor flip out because I didn't know what I'd done with my ring (realize this happens like once a week) and then I notice it laying on the counter and go to pick it up well my hand hits it the wrong way and it goes like 15' across the room bouncing several times. I pick it up and jas makes a comment about how its prolly missing a stone now and sure enough it is so now its in the jewelry shop for two weeks and we get our E-pictures done next saturday so I now have to bug the jeweler to hurry so I can have it for those lol.

The Planning Begins. . .

Hey everybody!

Well, I went looking at dresses saturday with Mom and Ang.  I started by trying on very formal dresses that I thought I wanted and as the day progressed I fell in love with a very informal dress.  It was a great thinking process and got me on track for the details of the big day.  Here are 3 general details that have been figured out so far, The wedding will be a non-denominational service in Southern Illinois, hopefully close enough to Harrisburg so that we can have our rehearsel dinner at Morellos (Don't know why this is special read "The Proposal"), The wedding and reception will be outside; though most likely the reception will be a combination of indoors and outdoors, The Hogs Gone Wild BBQ team will provide the main course for the reception and a caterer will be hired for sides and such.  Well thats about it for now.  We take our engagement pictures April 4th so keep an eye out for those.

Lots of Love,

Sunny
