Our Story

In the ways of today, Kody and I met online. *enter gasps here* I was on Lavalife to cancel everything - I was pretty over the idea - and this guy named 'Koach' wearing a toque says, 'hi!' I think to myself, 'mmm, he's CUTE! Love the toque.' So I say 'hi' back. A few minutes went by and I realized that he probably hadn't paid for a membership either, so that's that. We won't be able to exchange any personal information.

Right as I was about to log off, 'Koach' is back out of nowhere and writes me a personalized message and says something to the effect of, 'Hi! I bought a membership just so I could talk with you. You owe me $30 worth of conversation. Annnnd go!'

Well count me flattered, and under pressure!! Now I needed to be cute and clever ;)

That all happened on the 8th of April, we met face to face on the 17th of April, and spent an amazing 6 days meeting friends, adventuring in the mountains, and meeting family... and we declared boyfriend-girlfriend-dom on the 21st of April.

At the time I was living in Ontario, but with the collapse of my current plans, I packed everything up and moved back out West. I was thrilled to be closer to the mountains, and now this new man! Since then, we've spent as much time together as possible and continue to love each other more and more everyday.

Her Story

This is what caused Kody to fall ridiculously in love with me from the first moment, so I thought I'd just put that here!!

Lavalife Profile:

The Lord is my number one and I'm looking for my number two. I'm ambitious and a perpetual student and desire greatly to never, ever stop learning, whether it be in school or life.
I've done a lot and have been through a lot in this life including:
- losing my brother
- traveling many places including Africa (which is one of my favorites)
- living out of my car for eight months while I drove around North America
- taught wee kindergarteners up to college students,
- recorded a couple CDs
- painted a few houses
- hiked a piece of the Grand Canyon
- trained for six-months for an off-road run then pulled my groin three days before the race!!
- learned a bunch of new accents and languages
- fallen in love
- held a young woman's hand when she found out she had HIV

Yah.. my life has been an unending roller-coaster of unimaginable blessings and struggles and I wouldn't change a thing. However, as some wise people have discovered, 'happiness isn't real unless its shared'.. not that I haven't been happy, but how I've longed to adventure WITH someone!
And so it's time.. I'm looking for him.

I think in life, men have been scared away by my nomadic, adventuring lifestyle, perhaps thinking they can't live up to it..? I'm not sure really, that's simply my best guess.
But I'm dying to find the guy that wants to fight for me, and with me, and put me in my place, and challenge me to be better, and make a life with me. For him, I'll do anything and go anywhere... it's how I'm made.
So, what qualities might he posses? You must have a relationship with God, this is paramount. Otherwise, laughter is a necessity, an adventuresome spirit is a must, an appreciation of music would be lovely and...well, why don't you tell me the rest!

I have a beautiful family of 3 now - me, mum and dad. They're out in Ontario living it up. Currently, I'm working at Aspen Family Services as a Youth Support Worker in Calgary and love, love, loving it! I have 6 clients who are learning how to be more independent, and I get the blessing of helping them every step of the way.

His Story

He has a family of 6 plus the sweetest nephew and 3 wonderful grandparents. He's a jack-of-most-trades and is currently working on getting his certification in Home Inspection. He's a total brain and one day hopes to work in the medical field in one way or another.

He's brilliant musically and has played numerous instruments. In fact, keep an eye out for a recording with him and I... yes, there are plans. ;)
