Marcus took me to Tofino for a Weekend Getaway. I was pretty sure that this was going to be "The Weekend" but Marc was acting very normal and not nervous at all. By the time Sunday came around I was sure it wasn't going to happen. We went out for a nice dinner - although, who slathers Balsamic Vinaigrette over pasta? I'm not too sure... - Marc said we should go down to the beach for awhile. Now, I don't know if you've been to Tofino in September but it is WINDY! We had borrowed Anne's car for the weekend so we rummaged through her trunk to see if there was anything warm I could put on over my dress. We hit the jackpot - a bag of clothes for donation. I put on some sneakers, baggy khaki pants and a huge fleece sweatshirt. I looked ridiculous and said to Marcus "Would you still marry me if I dressed like this?" He just laughed. With blanket in hand, we headed down to the beach. Apart from being cold it was a gorgeous night. The sky looked like something out of The Lion King (great kings of the past Simba). Marc asked what I had said up in the parking lot and I repeated "If I dressed like this would you still marry me?" I turned towards Marc and there in his hands was the nicest ring I had ever seen. He said "Of course I'd still marry you!". After about 5 minutes of me yelling "ARE YOU SERIOUS?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?" I cried and said "YES!!!!!!".
Then we looked around our blanket and noticed hundreds of see-through bugs that looked like crabs and we got the heck outta there!
