The day before Valentine's Day I was warned that I would have a "puzzle" to figure out to get one of my presents. I had no idea what to expect! Valentine's Day morning comes and I make Matt's favorite caramel rolls and we exchanged gifts. After he opened mine (I got him some chocolate covered cherries with a box of 20 reasons why I love him, slippers, and lounge pants), he gave me what I was told part #1 of my 3 part present. It was pink orchids and a card. It was about 11:30am and I asked if I could have part #2, which was actually the puzzle to the 3rd and last part. He allowed me to have it, but warned me that if I figured it out before dinner at 4pm (we went to Johnny Corinos) I would still not be able to receive it until AFTER we ate. I didn't think I would figure it out, so I said okay and he ran to his car. When he came back, he had a large brown bear holding a heart saying "Be Mine". I was immediately giddy just for the bear because I'd been asking for a large cute stuffed animal for over a year. After he gave me the bear he then informed me that the bear was in fact the puzzle. Completely puzzled myself, I stared at the bear. I looked all over and there was no note, no nothing attached to him. After about 40 minutes or so, I thought well maybe the bear makes noise? I began squeezing his paws but nothing happened. When I checked the center of the bear for the speaker box, I felt ANOTHER box....the size of a jewelry box. After freaking out a bit, I had to put the bear away so I would forget about it - could it be a ring? THE ring? As time went by, I would keep going to get the bear to feel it again. I even shook it, and without touching it, it made a clicking noise, but when I touched it, it didn't make a noise at all! I so confused and so freaked out. I was texting my mom the whole time asking her what she thought it was, and neither one of us could figure it out. Eventually, as it got closer to 4pm, I was told that I would be able to open my present before we went to eat with a stipulation. Without knowing the stipulation, I said ok because I was so curious. Sure enough, Matt took the bear and carefully cut the chest open. He made me reach inside, and there was a white box with a red heart on it in the spot of the bears heart. As I opened the white box, hands shaking, I saw the words "A Cutting Edge". The ring was the ring I had fallen in love with back in September 2009. I balled, he proposed, and here we are today. :) Oh! And the stipulation was that he took my phone away until after supper so I couldn't tell anyone for about 2 hours after it happened!
