It was Valentines Day, 2009. I invited Melissa over for dinner on her lunch break. Her friends had her thinking "Ooooo... Mike might do something for Valentines. What if he proposes?" Both Shannon and Lanae were off work and she was bummed to be working alone on Valentines Day and at first she was going to just go eat dinner alone. She eventually came over for dinner after lot's of convincing by me and her friends... and nothing happened. So after work, we were just sitting on the couch watching a movie, and she was discussing in an offhanded way how her friends had her all psyched out that something was gonna happen at dinner time, and then I casually walked into the kitchen (to get the ring), walked out and kneeled down and propsed, which caught her completely off guard. She was completely surprised, but very happy, and said yes right away.
