Nate and Tricia met in the summer of 2004. At that time Tricia was employeed at Oshman's Sports Store. On the last day at her job, Nate happened to be shopping for golf shoes. Lucky for him, Tricia was working close to the golf shoe area and asked him if he needed help. There are two sides to what happpened next. Nate says that Tricia was checking him out. Tricia says that she wasn't, but that she was simply doing her job and asked him if he needed help. They both agree that Nate asked if the golf shoes were on sale. Ironically, our friend's Mark and Alex were also in the store and watched Nate as he talked to Tricia for the first time. It is a joke now that they are a partly responsible for the start of our relationship (there you go Mark)! Our first date was two weeks later because Tricia still had to take her final exams. We went to Herman Park and The Art Muesum. Ever since that summer Nate and Tricia have been each others' other half!
In April of 2008, we bought our first house in Copperfield (located on the Northwest side of Houston) and have been enjoying (or surviving) the ups and downs of home ownership, which included surviving Hurricane Ike. Due to the hurricane damage we announced our engagement at Christmas to our families and friends, but couldn't afford to get a ring yet. So after a couple months, we enjoyed a wonderful cruise to the Bahamas and Florida Keys and Nate proposed at Sunset on the boat. It was a beautiful setting.
