Engagement Day

Ok, I know having this site so far along the day is kind of sad, but since Alex and I have been dating for so long, I just couldnt help myself dreaming of this day.  I have been "planning" for a while and I am so happy to actually get into all the planning I have been looking forward to.  I am so happy that I get to do it with all my friends that also got engaged recently.  This next year is going to be the best one yet, and the ones to follow can only be better.

The Date

We are currently working on the date of the wedding.  We had one picked out (June 26, 2010), but after talking to our families we are not sure it would all come together financially and with us getting jobs (I graduate in May 2010).  We are still deciding if we really can do that day or we should push it back a year and get married on June 25, 2011.  We will keep you posted as soon as we make the decision.

April 11, 2009

Official Date

We have officially set a date.  We decided on June 25, 2011.  We had our hearts set on the summer of 2010, but after considering and talking to many people who are important to us, we decided this was the best option.  We are estatic to have the official day to start planning as well as comforted that we may be able to do more of the stuff we want because we have that extra year to plan.  We are so excited to plan our amazing future together!

Church and Hall stuff

We are working on contacting the church about specifics.  We are getting really excited to start making plans.  We have the church booked, but the specifics make everything really real.  We are also really excited about our Hall search.  We are narrowing it down and then going to look at them when Alex comes the weekend of the 24-26.  Yay!

Another big day today!

Today was another big day! I called Monsignor Jim Vanden Hogen and he said he will marry Siraya and I.  I also called St John's parish and put Siraya's name in to be confirmed.  We are working on getting a guest list together to make sure we have enough to reserve the main halls at reception halls, and we will visit High Cliff on Saturday to see if thats where we want our reception.  That is where Siraya's parents had their reception and Siraya likes the idea of being able to go outside if its nice, so it would be neat to have it there.  Siraya and I are both very excited!

Wedding Purchases and More!

Today was another fun day.  We went and made our first Wedding purchases.  We only bought the garter, guestbook pen, and a wedding planning book--but purchases towards the wedding none the less!  It is finally starting to really sink in...WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!  We are so happy!

Today we went and looked at High Cliff to help us make our decision between High Cliff and the Darboy Club.  The decision really didn't get any easier.  We think we are going to look at them both again when Alex comes home in May.  We hope we are more decisive and able to get our hall secured in May.

Also, a little fun fact: today is 26 months until the wedding. YAY!!

I am looking at getting everyone together to go look at dresses, but finding a time is harder than one would think.  I am almost done with school for the semester so that should open up some doors.  Hopefully all those who leave for summer can make it back or get off work for us all to get together!

Amazing Day!!!

Today was an amazing day!!  Not really wedding related, BUT amazing none the less!  Today, Siraya got her student teaching placements for the fall.  She will be teaching in Green Bay Area School District at Jackson elementary (Kindergarten) and then at Red Smith Elementary (4th Grade).  With in minutes of finding this out, Alex called Siraya to say HE GOT INTO MIDWESTERN PHARMACY SCHOOL!   He will be moving to Illinois this summer and going to school there.  We will be moving there together then after Siraya graduates next summer.  Alex is going to be a doctor in four years.  All of this is very exciting and we are so amazingly happy right now!

Update

Well not much has really happened in the wedding planning department.  We are currently in the process of finishing up the semester--Alex finishing up his very last final ever at UW Madison tomorrow and Siraya finishing up her very last student teaching prerequisite.  It has been a very big week with that.

Also, Siraya was really sick the past two weeks.  What started as a horrible cold turned into an ear infection and ruptured ear drum--only to be topped off with a bad reaction to the medication.  She is feeling much better, but she is now playing the catch up game as she has to make up everything she has missed in the past two weeks.  Alex is, unfortunately, just starting to get sick and we are hoping he does not have what Siraya did.

As for wedding planning, it is again, going to need to be put off for a short while.  On Saturday/Sunday Siraya is moving out of her current apartment and into temporary housing wehre she will stay for only 2 weeks.

In the mean time, WE ARE GOING TO SOUTH CAROLINA!  We are visiting Siraya's dad, brother.  We are excited to spend time in Siraya's first home and have time to relax there and on the beach.

When we get back, Siraya has to move yet again (bet you are so jealous of all this moving--espeically if you know how much stuff she has!!)

Finally when all that is taken care of, Siraya would really like to go look at dresses.  She has picked one she really likes out from a website, but wants to try it on and other ones to make sure that is the one.  She is really excited for that part!!

We promise to keep you updated!

Lots of love <3, Siraya And Alex

Back to the Real world

We are back from the most amazing 2 1/2 weeks of vacation.  We had time with our families, went on a road trip together (and didnt kill each other!) spent time with that part of Siraya's family, came back to spend time with our finally went up north and finally spent time with Alex's extended family.  It has been amazing.

Alex left for Madison today.  He is working and taking a summer class down there.  Siraya leaves for St. Norbert tomorrow and she will be working 3 jobs.  We will be very busy and we are not sure when we wil have time to plan the wedding, but we are both still very excited.

We hope to come home at some point yet this summer to book the hall (which we decided was High Cliff) to make sure we have our first choice hall for our special day.  Siraya hopes to get out dress shopping but it will be interesting trying to coordinate everyone she would like there as she tries on dresses to be in the same place at the same time!

While we spent hours in the car (15 hours both way to South Carolina and 1 hour both ways to Legend Lake) Siraya did a lot of little stuff with wedding planning.  She looked at bridal magazines to start to get some ideas and then did her best to finish the guest list.  After thinking of all those in Alex's large family and all of Siraya's "adopted" family we are inviting--brace yourselves--400 people.  We are very excited to share this day with so many people and it is comforting to know we have 400 people who mean enough to us to be a part of our special day.  Wish us luck on the planning for everyone though!

2 YEARS FROM TODAY!!!

AHHHHH!!  WE ARE GETTING MARRIED 2 YEARS FROM TODAY!!  I didnt think I was going to be this excited for the "-2 year anniversary" of our wedding but I am!  We are both so excited!!

We officially booked the Hall today!  We are written down for that day and then we are going in a few weeks (when Alex can make it to the area) to make the payment to completely "lock" our date.  When Siraya called to book today, they didnt even have a 2011 book yet so they wrote us down (and decided they should go out and get a 2011 reservation book).  We are not worried about taking a few weeks to "lock" it because we feel that 2 years is plenty of time, but we still wanted that out of the way this summer.

After the hall down payment is made, we decided we are going to make a down payment on a photographer that Siraya has researched and fallen in love with his work.  After that payment is made, things will slow down when it comes tothe big wedding stuff for this summer and the year.  We feel the rest of the stuff can wait until next summer, but making sure these things were locked was really important to us.

I have been working on our wedding binder for quite some time.  I have been collecting tons of pictures of things that that fit our theme and that we like and putting them together in binder.  We have really started to get an idea of what things are going to look like!

Sadly, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson passed away today....we got a fun idea that at the wedding we could do a Charlies Angels picture and a picture of everyone doing "Thriller"---so practice your moves people!  This would be in their memory of course and to have a little fun.  Anyway, the thought of it game us a laugh (and Megan who came up with it with Siraya).

June 26, 2009

So far...

So far we have offically booked the church (St. John Church in Little Chute), our officiant (Monsignor Jim), and our reception hall (High Cliff Supper Club).  On Sunday, we make the first payment to officially secure the photographer (Adam Shea).  All this is very exciting!

Siraya continually works on getting ideas from magazines and websites.  After the down payment is made on the photographer, we are going to take the wedding planning down a notch.  We have plenty of time and we also have other very exciting things that demand our attention in the very near future.

This past weekend we vistited Alex's new school, Midwestern University - It was such a nice campus.  As summer is almost at it's half way point, we have realized how quickly time is going and how soon we will be immersed in one of the most challenging years of our lives up until this point.  We are both nervous for what is up ahead, but we are also very confident that the distance and challenges up ahead will only make us stronger as a couple.

Emotional Roller Coaster

We are currently in the middle of an emotional roller coaster.  This past weekend, Siraya had the chance to go to try on wedding dresses for the first time.  Alex was almost as excited as Siraya was.  It is such a monumental part of the wedding and it is amazing we are at this point.  Siraya found some definite ideas of what she is looking for in a dress.  She is more excited than ever.

We also made the last installment on our down payment of the photographer.  That is a big portion of the total cost and towards our budget.  It is a great feeling knowing that is taken care of already.

Siraya also started her student teaching placement and her first official day of school is tomorrow.  She will be teaching kindergarten in an amazing classroom with an amazing teacher.  She is so excited she will be able to work with kids every day and get school credit for it!  She also just got a job at The Little Gym in Green Bay.  She gets to teach gymnastics and play with kids on their birthday parties.

Alex officially moves to Illinois tomorrow.  He and Siraya just said their goodbyes tonight.  Alex will not be home again until Siraya's birthday (5 weeks from now).  It is so exciting for him to go to school and pursue his Pharmacy degree, but at the same time it is so hard to be apart for that long.

We are excited for all the wonderful things in our life and for the wedding stuff to be fitting so nicely and making things so exciting, but at the same time we are missing each other like crazy and waiting until we see each other again.  The good thing is, at the end of this roller coaster ride is our version of happily ever after.

September 2009

Not much has changed in the wedding department.  Siraya has been trying on dresses, but has no idea what she wants yet.  She will just keep trying them on until hopefully she finds "the one."

It has been a little rough being apart for the past month.  Siraya just got back from her first visit to the big city (don't ask her how the drive there went...she may break into tears again), but other than that the weekend was nice to catch up on the past month and spend some quality time together.  We are hoping that we never have to go a whole 4 weeks with out seeing each other again as that really put a strain on our relationship, but at the same time, we know if we have to we will overcome it just like we did this time.

We will keep you posted if anything new happens.  Thanks for following!

AHHH Wedding Brain!

So Siraya (I) has (have) a really really really REALLY bad case of wedding brain.  All I can think about is planning the wedding.  All I keep doing is looking at dresses and decorations online, and reading wedding blogs.  i have so much to do for student teaching since I was sick last week and my teacher already called in sick for tomorrow (and it is conferences week!), but I CANT STOP THINKING WEDDING!  I am so excited to marry the love of my life and I can hardly wait to have that magical day with him.

But on that note I REALLY HAVE TO GET BACK TO LESSON PLANNING!

October 11, 2009

THE DRESS

I found my dress!  It is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to walk aisle in it!  It is everything I was looking for!  I had a blast picking it out with Ashley, Ellie, Sarah, Megan, and my mom.  We tried on 7-8 in one day at Bridal Event and we couldnt stop comparing it to others.  We went to another store and I couldnt even make myself look at others because none could be THE ONE at Bridal Event.  We went out to lunch together and realized how much we missed going in "the van" and hanging out together.  It was like being 15 again!

It turns out what was making me so anxious and having such a strong wedding brain was the desire to find THE DRESS and the worry it wasnt out there.  Now that we have the bare essentials (the church, the officiant, the reception hall, the food, the photographer and the dress) we are really getting married.  I feel much more at ease and feel I can take a lot more time to enjoy the engagement and go back and look at the amazingness of our relationship.

Today we also reached the 20 month mark to the wedding! Alex and I are so excited!  There is TONS  going on in the next few months and pretty soon it will be May and everything will move in fast forward from there.  We cannot wait for our magical day!!

Crafty!

So Alex gets points for purchases made with his credit card.  Over break he decided to look at the little online store they have to see how many points he had and if there was anything that he could get on there.  He typed wedding into the search box and a lot of wonderful stuff came up.  We ended up finding the cake knife and serving set that we love.  We ordered them and they came in today. They are gorgeous-LOVE THEM!

Wonder what we will see next....it is so exciting to not only get something gorgeous for the wedding, but for it to be free it makes things so exciting!

January 05, 2010

Lots of stuff has been happening!

Well there has been quite a few "big deals" happening lately.

Siraya has officially completed her student teaching placement and only has one semester left of her undergradutae career.  Classes are tough and very different from the education classes she is used to but she is going to keep trucking through it all!

We have been talking about a lot of wedding planning, but have not really done anything.  We have tons of ideas, it is only going to take some time and money.

Yesterday, we celebrated our 7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!  It is hard to believe that 7 years ago we were going around our respective high schools telling our friends we had a new boyfriend/girlfriend.  So much has happened in the past 7 years--we have grown up so much.  It is amazing looking back at pictures and memories from years ago.  We have so many amazing memories and so many more to come!

Today, Siraya applied for her very first REAL TEACHING JOB!  The application is out and the rest is now in the hand of the school district, but if she gets it, it will be an amazing position.  It is her dream grade (kindergarten), only 15 mintues from Alex's school, and 10 minutes from the cheapest apartment we have looked at!  We could still be a one car family, have a job she actually enjoys, and there would be an income.  Keep your fingers crossed and keep her in your prayers as we wait to hear.

January 27, 2010

update

Since we got engaged so far prior to our wedding date and we were so super excited about it that we went ahead and booked a lot of the stuff that was very important to us, we have recently gone through and double checked that things were booked.

When we orginally booked the reception hall, High Cliff, they didnt even have the 2011 book yet and they had noted our day 2010 book and taken our deposit.  Since the holidays are a time in which many couples get engaged, we wanted to make sure our date was moved to the 2011 book before a whole bunch of holiday engagements came in and ther was a chance of double booking.  Same thing with the church.  We are good to go in both areas.

We found out about some more fees we did not know about prior, but are able to make them and make sure everything is good to go!  It is a great feeling.

Also, SIRAYA'S WEDDING DRESS CAME IN!  It came in a month earlier than expected, which is surprising because usually gowns are known to be late rather than early.  Also, it had to be custom made.  Her height is, well, short.  To do alterations it would take away some of the beading and it would cost a lot.  By getting it custom made it comes with all the right beading and was actually cheaper than hemming it.  She is super excited to try it on in her size!

We recently went to Kevin and Stephanie's wedding.  It was a gorgeous wedding!! It was in the same church as ours.  It was so nice to get some ideas.  Steph is more than willing to share ideas and it is nice to know we have another person to talk to and ask questions.

Siraya Continues to apply for teaching jobs and work to finish her senior year of college. The homework this semester is more difficult and in larger amounts than she ever anticipated. Alex has been studying his butt off for the tons of tests he has this quarter.  This quarter has definately been a challenge and a bigger pain than he ever anticipated.  This does not leave much time for them to talk but they are holding in strong and looking at it like another neccissary bump in the road before the joy of their lives together starts.

We are super excited to spend the weekend together and celebrate Valentines day together as Siraya is going to be traveling to Chicago with Mark and Katy to spend 3 amazing days together.

We are looking forward to the wonderful, bumpy road ahead until we get to the start of our *new* lives together as Husband and Wife!

We are Living...in Fast Forward...

Well, things are really moving fast now!

Alex got a summer internship at Walgreens for the Summer!  This means great hours, great pay, great experience, and a great resume builder!  He is placed in Kaukauna, WI.

On April 9, 2010, we celebrated one year being engaged!  It has been a wonderful year and I cannot believe how fast this year flew by!  We honestly remember not only that day but many of the days around it so vividly that it is hard to believe a whole year has passed.

On April 9 we also celebrated: SIRAYA GOT A FULL TIME TEACHING JOB!  She is going to be starting 2 days after graduation at Chesterbrook Academy in Wheaton, IL!  In the summer she will be teaching/working in the infants room.  That means all summer she can work with 6 weeks-16 month olds.  Then when the fall term starts, she will be moving to the 3-year-old preschool room!  She is a lead instructor and has good pay and benefits which is great for our future!

On April 14, 2010, we were accepted into our first apartment!  We will be living in Country Villa apartments.  We have a wonderful first floor apartment right off the parking lot with a a deck, garden we get to plant, and pool out back!  We are super excited.  Siraya moves in the day after graduation (giving her 2 days to prepare for the job!). Alex has finals that week so his stuff will be trickling in as he has study breaks.

As mentioned, Alex got an internship in Kaukauna, WI and Siraya got a job in Wheaton, Illinois.  This means we will be trading places for the summer and doing long distance for yet another 3 months.  No big deal, we have done 4 years, we can handle a few more months!

You wait 4 years for college to end, school to be done, and be all grown up and have the job you have been working for, and then suddenly you are a senior and wondering where the heck time went and how nice it would be to be that 18 year old again.....

Siraya is pushing to survive the last 4 weeks of undergraduate classes EVER.  She graduates in May 16, 2010.  Alex is pushing to finish the last 5 weeks of his first year of pharmacy school.

We are so happy with everything right now.  It is hard for even us to keep up with all that is going on since it is all moving so fast, but we promise to do our best to keep everyone up to date!  Wish us luck in the last few weeks of classes and the big move, and our first days of work!

Graduation CHECK, Move CHECK, start new job CHECK, finishing first year of pharmacy school CHECK

Siraya has officially graduated.  The ceremony was great with Bart Starr being there and wonderful speaches...and graduating, of course!  The day went fast and there was a lot of running to have a cookout, go to the ceremony, take pictures and then get out of the apartment for check out by 5.  Crazy, Crazy day.  Pictures are at the following link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2054254&id=59002766&l=526a60bb97

We officially moved into our apartment.  Siraya, Mark, and Katy left Little Chute, WI at 6:15 am with the uhaul and loaded cars going a max of 60.  Got honked at and swerved around, but we made it.  Got it all moved in and things on the wall to make this place really home.  We could not have done it with out their help!  Thank you Mark and Katy!  It looks so nice.  Pictures are at the following link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2054346&id=59002766&l=146a622881

Siraya has started her job in Illinois already.  She is currently working with the infants.  Every day she comes home tired and  covered in snot, tears, mushed up food, and more but loves it.  She sees the parents comfort that their child was cared for and his tons of fun playing with babies every day....though she can say having 4 screaming for something different at the same time and none of them able to walk or talk to say what that is or get it themselves is a really nice form of birth control!  No kids until we are married for a long, long time!

Through Siraya's graduation, the move, and all the craziness, it has been Alex's final week. He has been a trooper working all day and then studying at night.  It has all paid off.  HE IS DONE WITH HIS FIRST YEAR! Congratulations Alex, we are all proud of you!  Keep it up!

300 days update

Today marks 300 days until the wedding day.  :)  Time is going so quickly that our wedding day will be here before we know it!

Since the last blog, Alex lived in Wisconsin all summer.  He worked as an intern at the Walgreens pharmacy while Siraya held down the fort in Illinois---moving up to the toddler room part time and the two year old room part time.

The summer was rough and Siraya had a hard time being on her own, but it gave a lot of time to get wedding planning done, and with skype, they were able to do a lot of it together.

The guest list is near complete with a total of 482 people on it right now.  We could not have made the list as complete as it is with out the help of Katy and facebook!  Thanks everyone!

We have purchased our cake toppers and we got the borrowed vases for centerpieces from Jessica Schroeder.  Siraya did a trial of the centerpieces and thinks she has an idea of what they will look like, what they need, and even ideas to help it run more smoothly than in her trial.  Jessica also agreed to do Siraya's hair.  Kelly agreed to help with flowers and to help us get the ones we want from the grocery store keeping the prices lower.  Robin, Kelly's sister, agreed to help decorate and help things run smoothly.  We have been looking at pictures online and have pretty good idea what we are doing for decorations.  Jeanne said her sister is going to be able to do our wedding cake as she will be in town from Texas to do Jeanne and Brad's wedding cake (2 weeks before ours).  We have been emailing around to get quotes and ideas for our honeymoon.  We think we have a general idea of where we are going, the cost, and what would be included.  We are really excited and punching numbers to see if we can make it work.  Finally, Siraya has picked out the wedding band she would like (online only) and they have started looking for Alex's.  Basically, we have been doing a lot of research and punching numbers.  We are doing pretty good, and are anxiously awaiting our special day 300 days from now!

Alex has officially moved in and it is strange to have someone there all the time--in a good way.  After a bout with the stomach flu and other stressors it is just nice to have someone here!  Every morning Siraya wakes up and says "It's awesome you are still here, I keep expecting you to have to leave again."  :)

Siraya starts the fall semester teaching 3 year preschool at the same school and with the two-year-old kids she had this summer, which should hold for some interesting stories. Alex starts school following Labor day.  Yay for PS2!

November Update

It is 7.5 months until the wedding and planning is really starting to pick up.  We have been making little purchases occasionally all summer.  We actually have a lot of the stuff we need.  We have booked our tux's through Men's Warehouse, attempted to book hotels, picked bridesmaid dresses, purchased Siraya's veil, booked the limo-bus, purchased much of the decorations, picked ceremony music, and purchased bridesmaid gifts (and part of the gift will be handmade and 3 of the 6 are complete).

As you can read in the "out of towners" section, we had trouble booking a hotel.  everything appears to be booked for blocks so people must individually pick a hotel and such.  We hate that we could not convenience our guests more, but the situation was just very unfortunate.  It was our first (and hopefully only) planning "woe"

Bridesmaid dresses was an adventure to say the least.  After shopping for 6 hours (with a lunch break and drink and some driving between stores) we finally made a selection.  It is the perfect dress that will make each girl look great.

We meet with Msgr. Jim on the Saturday following Thanksgiving to begin our counseling and discuss the wedding ceremony.  We will finalize music choices (making sure they are appropriate for the Catholic church) and setting up how the ceremony will go.  We are excited and anxious for this.

We are meeting with Kelly that same Saturday to discuss flower options and colors.  We are hoping to figure out budget and what flowers/how many we will need to make everything look great.

We plan on meeting with Robin soon to discuss the decorations.  We have been communicating via email and have GREAT ideas.  We are all excited and Alex and I cant wait to meet with her to really get the vision in place.

Things are really gaining speed.  It is amazing how fast time goes and how much we have done.  It is also amazing how much is still on the "to do list."  We will keep working hard and keep in touch as we make more progress!

Another Big day

Yesterday in the mail we got our first wedding card!  In it came the gift from my father (who lives in South Carolina) and we could not be more grateful and excited!  It is so exciting getting a card specifically for the wedding and his gift could not make us smile any more!  Plus, who doesn't love getting mail that is not bills?!?!?!

In the mail also came the fabric swatch for the color of the dresses which I ordered.  It is much bigger than the pinky nail sized piece we used to pick our color and gives me a much better idea of the color.  It is a little more pink/red than I originally thought, but it is still a beautiful color and I am excited to work with it when it comes to flowers, the cake, the tux's and more.

We officially booked our honeymoon yesterday as well.  We got an ocean front suite with the possibility of being upgraded to a swim up suite.  How exciting is that?!?!?  The lady also found us 2 nonstop flights there so we are only traveling 3 hours to get there.  We are arriving in the morning so we have all of our travel day to be there (8am flight leaves arriving 11:45).  We shouldn't be to tired as it is not to early of a start either.  Love to be able to get more out of the day!  We are beyond excited.

We also ordered our invites yesterday.  Siraya was VERY nervous about it since EVERYONE is going to read it at some point.  They have been done for a while, the proofs have been read by many people, many times including the wedding blog Siraya frequents.  All said they looked great, but Siraya was to scared to actually proceed with purchasing.  Well she wakes up Friday morning with a coupon in her email giving her 15% THE ENTIRE ORDER of but it was only good for Friday.  Well she had to take the plunge for that discount (which ended up being almost $70!).  So invites are "in tow."

Finally, we are going to apply for our passports today.  The pics are already taken, the applications are already filled out, and the post office is only a few miles away.  Shouldn't take long, but it is still exciting!

Well that sums up our very exciting Friday (and Sat morning).  Siraya is now going to catch up on housework (since we haven't had time in a while) and Alex is going to study for finals that begin on Monday.  By Friday he will officially be done with first quarter of year 2 of Pharmacy School!

November 13, 2010

196 days to go!

We are doing very well in the wedding planning department.  We have centerpieces picked and part of the stuff purchased, flowers were discussed, decoration ideas are coming in and some of them are bought, hotel for wedding night booked, Siraya's jewelry and headband is bought, and we met with Msgr. Jim and church stuff is almost done being taken care of.

Really, we don't have that much to plan.  Getting excited for the big day.  Siraya has been having more and more wedding dreams as the day gets closer and closer. Hopefully, they will stay under control ;)

It is weird that when we were first engaged,  we planned ANYTHING and people thought we were crazy.  Now it is just the time to do it.  It is crazy that it is finally here and we are getting married in just 196 days!
December 11, 2010

Under 150!

We are under 150 days until the wedding.  Pretty much everything is done that can be done at this time.  The rest just hast to be done when we are home or within  a certain date of the wedding.

The cake is booked, we a going to go finalize plans with them when we go home Feb 25-28 (Siraya took  a Monday off of work to have a week day to get stuff done).  We will be getting wedding bands (from Kessler's which is where Alex got the engagement rings from and those are only in WI) then as well.  We have finalized flowers, dj, locations, decorations, photographer, transportation, etc.  We do have to do a little bit of marriage counseling still (1 meeting) but it also has to be done in WI and we have not heard of the date yet.  We are working on that.

Also, according to all the wedding checklists, it says "Begin wedding beauty routines" and "start getting in shape for the wedding-begin a work out plan."  So that is what we have done.  We have started eating better (as well as we can afford) and bought a work out video.  We started that tonight and feel the burn but feel it is something we can stick to and is kind of fun to do together.  It is a 30 minute 3 day a week video so it is practical.  We are also trying to go for a walk in the days in between.

Finally, Siraya has been very bored (since most of the planning is done) so she went to a craft store one day after work (and Alex was working and not around to say no) and basically walked around LOOKING for projects to do herself to make the wedding "pretty."  So far she has designed their own monogram, made a table runner, glued crystals on pins for flowers (each gem on each pin one by one), created Bridal Suite and Groom Signs for the church dressing room, did a trial of the centerpieces, and found the colors of ribbon going to be used for the floral projects.

It is getting really exciting that things are getting so close and people stop looking at us like we are crazy when we go to do things (as compared to when it was many, many, months ago).  Siraya has only had 1 freak-out moment and it faded quickly....hopefully she can stay cool and collected the rest of the way through!

Promise to keep in touch and if you are from out of town, we hope you have had the chance to get your hotel booked.  If you haven't, please let us know if there is anything you need from us (whether it be info, phone numbers, or advice) and we would love to get that to you!

126 days

Well as of today we have 126 days until the wedding.  Since the last update, we have celebrated our 8 year anniversary and got quite a bit of planning done.  We pretty much have everything we can do for now done.  We are going back to Wisconsin next weekend to meet with the cake decorator, look at the bridesmaid dresses (BECAUSE THEY JUST CAME IN!) and then pick out our wedding bands.

There are are many exciting things going on in our lives right now that we are waiting to hear more about and then we will update everyone!  Lets just say there can be a lot of changes in our near future!  We are very excited about the wedding and all that is going on.  It is really starting to feel real!

Will update again soon!  As always, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns and we would love to help!

6 Weeks!

6 weeks from today we get married.  It is crazy to think about.  We have been planning for over 2 years and it has always been this fantasy dream that was happening in the distant future, but now it is here!

Wow, the stuff that has happened since February!

We have done a lot of planning for the wedding and pretty much have everything done now.  Now we just have a lot of payments to make (not the fun part, but reality).  Dawn and her friends have gotten together and been working on wedding stuff as they get in "Wedding mode" They have taken care of a lot of the little tasks for us such as folding name tents, making pew bows, putting stickers on things, etc.

Robin, our decorator, and Heidi, our reception site coordinator, have each other saved in their phones and have been working together closely on making our wedding day amazing.

We basically have our wedding day schedule figured out, just trying to figure out where to take wedding photos.  Who knew that would be so tricky?!?

Made the final payment on our honeymoon today and the tickets and itinerary will come via email on Monday!

Next weekend we are headed back to WI.  We have a long weekend (Fri-Mon) and have tons of appointments that are wedding related.  We are meeting the DJ, looking at places to take photos, final marriage counseling, meeting with the pianist, second dress fitting, tux fitting, and applying for our marriage license.  oh, boy what a long weekend.  We will also have to meet up with Ryan, to go out for a drink since he is legal now. ;)

This weekend has also been full of Alex studying.  His final week is this coming week and then he is done with his second year of pharmacy school!  Congratulations Alex on all your hard work, we are so proud of you!  Half done!

We found out our lease is up while we are on our honeymoon in Mexico so we had to do some figuring there.  Why our 12 month lease is really 13 1/2 we aren't quite sure, but nothing we can do about it.  We are not sure if we want to stay (the place is great except a little small and laundry sucks).  We are looking at new places, but after talking with our current place we could do a month by month lease for July so we could move Aug. 1.  We shall see.

Finally, RSVPs are due June 1st (18 days!) so try to get them in asap!  We greatly appreciate it!
