Wedding Ceremony: San Antonio de Padua Parish

San Antonio de Padua Parish

I'm pretty sure many of you have not been to this church. But you will all be surprised, while it may look very provincial from outside, inside it is pleasant and romantic. With its rustic appeal, enough pews to comfortably seat at least 150 guests, a decent aisle for a dramatic walk to the altar, It's got the potential to be one of the favorite church venues for Tagaytay weddings.

You will find the San Antonio de Padua Parish at Bo. Pooc, Silang, Cavite.

When coming from Manila, at about two kilometers from the PNP Academy along the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road (see map below), you will find to your right a green sign showing the way to Tagaytay and to Silang. Take the Silang route and at exactly 2.4 km from the turnpoint, immediately past a yellow steel arc over the road, you will find the church to your left.

Coming from Tagaytay, you must take the Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa road and drive toward South super hi-way. You will pass Leslie's and MIng's restaurants. You must drive further on and watch out for the green road signs on the right side of the road with the SM (Shoemart) logo. The final road sign indicating the turnpoint says: To Silang and To Pooc.

You will know you are approaching the turnpoint when you see an amber colored church to your left and a light blue painted chapel to your right, and finally the green road sign still with the SM logo (maybe SM donated the road sign to the local government so it has its name on it;-). Take a left toward Silang.

Cocktails by the lake: Cliffhouse viewdeck

Picture2 529

Right after our church celebrations we will all have some wine, hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Firelake Grill, and  Cafe Breton's luscious crepe at the viewdeck of Cliffhouse.

Cliffhouse has a small sign along the road. So you must watch out for the Yellow Cab Pizza sign  because Cliffhouse is right beside Yellow Cab. If you miss it the first time, just turn around towards the row of restaurants. If you miss it again, and then again, just enjoy the nice view along the way;-))

We're holding cocktails at Cliffhouse as a little treat to our guests. We want to share a beautiful view of the Taal lake and the little volcano. And during this hour or so we will get the guests acquainted with Johannes, his folks and visiting friends. Here, we will try to have our photos taken with you, our guests, so you need not queue and wait for the photo shoot to finish at the dinner reception.

It's gonna be fun;-)

Dinner reception: Sonya's Garden

Sonya's garden (4)

Sonya's Garden makes for a romantic wedding dinner venue. The abundant flora and the rustic Filipino design of its halls, with the cold Tagaytay breeze provide a really romantic ambience.

From Cliffhouse, you must drive along the main road toward Nasugbu/Lemery, for about nine kilometers. Watch out for Splendido and Royal Tagaytay Estates because immediately as you get past these subdivisions you will find the Sonya's Garden tower and the turnpoint on your right.

After a little over two kilometers you will find Sonya's Garden on your left.

Attire

The invites do not purposely inform of guests' attire as we are assuming everyone to come in their usual barong tagalog-coat & tie-long dress wedding garb.

The groom and the men in our entourage will be in coat and tie. Our Ninongs are free to come in barong tagalog, and all other male guests are free to come in barong or in their dress shirts with or without tie, as they please.

And the lady guests, please come nicely dressed since we only have this one chance to party and be photographed together other than in our casual or office attires;-)
