My wedding dress was a mixture from photos of dresses from the internet and photos and designs found in New Zealand. It was an 1886 design victorian wedding dress for many reasons - I loved the bustle era, earlier years were too ribbony and frilly for my liking and later years were coming back into natural form dresses.

Sally was moving from the USA to England at the time she was making and helping me design my dress. Even through her upheaval, kept in contact and made sure that she understood what I wanted and made the distance seem not even a bit of a hurdle.

It was the most perfect wedding dress I could have hoped for.

Glenys did a brilliant job over and above. Hair and makeup to perfection and then helping me get into my wedding dress, but not before helping strap me into the corset first. Making sure she had enough time and enough hands on deck with a great hairdresser to give a hand with the very elegant but demanding 1880's hair dos.

My best friend of 16 years is my bridesmaid. Lisa Slater.
Was kind enough to look like a bride (again) as was the custom in the Victorian age.
"Victorian wedding etiquette on bridesmaids clothing is also peculiar. Bridesmaids should wear dresses that look like that of the bride. It was believed before (even before the time of the Victorians) that a devil is on the loose everytime there is a wedding. This devil is tasked to kidnap the bride, take her away from her groom, and take her virginity from her. So, bridesmaids are selected, those that look like the bride, younger or of her age, and must dress the way she dresses so as to confuse the devil who should be taken."

Again kathy did a marvilous job of my bridesmaids (Lisa's) dress. A lot of time and conversing by email and sending Lisa a basic design in cheap material to make sure the fit and measurements were correct.

A design that complimented mine and Lisa looked great in it.
