TFT Meeting in Indonesia

Saturday, May 16th, 2009.
Place : Nationality Building - Untag University - Semarang, Indonesia.
Time : 09 am (Indonesia) - 10 pm (US) - 04 am (Netherlands).
Partner Video Conference : Mr. Hoong Kai Chow (Dover - US) and Mr. Marco van deKamp (Amersfoort - Netherlands).
The partner company : Brandman, Travelers For Travelers, UNTAG University, Telkom Indonesia, IAI (Indonesian Architect Community), Fentura (Modern Building Equipment).

The attendees : about 225 audiences, from some background like : public attendee, Indonesian Student Architecture Community, Indonesian Architect Community, Indonesia Tourism Government, Indonesia Education Government.

Something special in this event :
The first concept in this event, mix between video conference, publish online paper work my student, discuss about Asian Architecture based of my research.
Day by day..... everyone suggest ideas to us, join with our preparation, etc.....
AND Finally........ Video conference is the core of this event.
Fortunately......all my partner, all my team, all my community and all my students was GREAT.....!! so everything was perfectly..... Thanks ALL....!!!
Especially for Kai & Marco : I'm so lucky had partner like both of you.... :smile:

TFT Video Conference with the preparation.

D-1 : trial video conference with Marco

I post about my preparation in my last video conference,
because I hope will be inspired anyone to make something new in the future.
The next TFT meeting online, WITH : the special concepts, special ideas, special missions, etc.

Here is my steps :
1. Before said to my Rector about this event, I was get permission from The Headmaster of Private University in Middle of Java to make this event in his room special for video conference with 20 attendees. I think the important thing was oke...... all of equipment no problem at all. So, I share my detail event to my Rector. In the first time I didn't told him about the real name my partner video conference, yet. Just said about my community TFT, the special character community, etc.
AND my Rector gave me big support and ordered me, "NO, you never made this event in other place except in our campus...... with all the preparation in here. Because I will publish not only by online media but with the television and news paper, too..."
SO, whatever problem would be handle by all lecturers in our campus....!!"

2. In Indonesia, not too much internet connection with the big bandwidth that need by skype. So, the equipment problem would be big problem for me from now on.
I think, I'm very lucky......Telkom ( the big telecommunication company in Indonesia) support my event, they gave me new modem with the unlimited capacity for FREE forever. That's amazing ...... the day before the event, when I made final trial with Marco, The Headmaster of Telkom, visited my campus and saw about the final trial. Check picture and sound between Netherlands and Indonesia...... :eek: The very special attention to this event.... I think......

3. The most important to us (Me - Kai - Marco) was Time World.
All preparation must be comfortable to us..... sometime I made trial with Kai and another time made trial with Marco. We used Skype.
What the hot topic when we made trial ??? ANYTHING...!!!!
Never finished to talk each other........ sometime, after we made trial...... I said, "Oh my God, I forget about something......" hehehe....

4. The day before the event, I had problem about sound. Because I'm not used headphone, Marco's voice very big to me, in empty room made wcho.....so I can't heard clearly what Marco's said....
This is made me a bit nervous...."how about tomorrow I will be late to response my partner online ?" hehehe....

5. The event came. Everything was perfect.....
Because my student ask first, I know what the focus of questions, and I think....because me - Kai - Marco was made some communication by messages before the event, all of we really enjoy our discuss. Really spontaneous......humanist and lively with our personal style......
Laugh each other and made joke each other. Isn't it.......Kai and Marco ?

Hm....what the indicator if this event made the positive impact to each other ??
I think...... Marco and Kai will be received some add friends from my students by facebok.....hahahaha.......

Question to Mr.Kai :
1. Mr. Kai, what the special thing about Asian tourism in your opinion ?
2. Mr. Kai, I know that you really want to visited Indonesia. What city you will visited ? And why ?
3. What will you used to choice city for traveling ? The beautiful nature, landmark architecture or maybe something else ?

Question to Mr. Marco van de Kamp :
1. Marco, we knew that few years ago, you ever visited Indonesia. What your favourite city in Indonesia and why ?
2. can you tell me about something in your country because in Semarang we had big problem about flood ?
3. Marco, your country is very far from Indonesia. How can you know about Untag University in Semarang Indonesia ?
4. Marco, what most you like to visited in traveling ? Moderen city with the perfect moderen facilities or traditional place with very difficult way to find anything ?
5. Do you have something plan to mix traveling concept and education concept ?
6. Marco, how about you make discuss between tourism and the technology in traveling as a periodic ?
7. Marco, when you come to Indonesia and visit our campus in reality ?

All of the world is beautiful...... so if we have some experience to share traveling story to everyone.....it would be great to understand each other, respect each other and hand in hand forever will be our style in TFT........isn't it ? :smile:
