Vas & Julia - Our Destination Wedding

I've been residing in West Des Moines, IA for the past 12.5 years with my family since we moved here in 1996 from my hometown of Kolomna, RU. Jewls and I have a place together in Ames, IA where we both go to school.

I'm currently attending Iowa State University and will be graduating this December of '08. I am triple majoring in Finance, International Business, and Russian Studies.

Some of my hobbies include mountain biking, running, digital photography, and traveling the world with my sweetheart hence why we picked the destination wedding for us :o)

I have been living in West Des Moines, IA with my family for the past 16.5 years after moving from Kiev, Ukraine to the U.S. on June 29, 1992.

I graduated from Valley High School in 2004 & am now attending Iowa State University triple majoring in Management, International Business, & European LCP Studies. Vas & I got a place together in Ames, IA where I go to school and will be graduating this December of '08.

I enjoy spending time with my soulmate Vas, my family, my adorable puppy Lily, and close friends. I love traveling around the world with Vas, dancing, singing, writing poetry, doing outdoor activites, and web page & graphic design.

I saw Vas from a distance at my friend Gene's Bar Mitzvah a few year ago but never got a chance to talk to him. I thought he was really handsome & I instantly felt like there was something different about him but no matter who I asked no one could tell me who he was. I didn't see him again for another year but never forgot about him.

Over a year later my best friend's boyfriend at the time coincidentally ran into me & Vas was with him so he introduced us, not knowing that we had seen each other once before but never got a chance to talk until then. We instantly liked each other but I went away for the summer to be a camp counselor and started dating someone for a while since I had no idea Vas liked me too. Vas & I had been growing closer but when he found out about this guy he thought that his chance with me was over & stopped keeping in touch with me. I kept thinking about him because I really liked him and kept wondering why he had stopped talking to me. A year later I called him up one day and asked him the infamous question "Why do you hate me?" He was so shocked that I called & that I asked him that question and told me he didn't hate me at all lol :)

He came over that day and we started spending time with each other again almost daily. Later we came across a few issues with my past relationships & I had to prove to Vas that I was really willing to commit to him & on Jan. 16th, 2003 we made it official & fell for each other head over heels. We had many problems & people that caused them along the way but we got through them together and that helped to strengthen our in love feelings for each other even more and we realized how truly in love we were with each other. We really started to realize & feel that our love & connection brought us to each other as soulmates & that we didn't want to be with anyone else but each other! :D
