It was always meant to be, and it started with when Andy caught a football for the first time, and decided to start playing American style football in Vienna, Austria. Then he came to Santa Barbara and played for SBCC for one year and then returned to Austria.

 

Ten Years later Amber and Andy met online as friends who had both taken classes at Santa Barbara City College and shared common interests such as snowboarding and a love for water sports. Two Years went by as their friendship continued. Their friendship grew stronger and they decided they should meet!

 

It was love at first sight at LAX on December 7, 2006 when Amber picked up Andy from the airport for the first time! They had already fallen for the kind hearts they each have with direct communication for more than 2 years, so the saying "when you know, you just know it's the right one" applied as soon as they met face to face to confirm what their hearts had been feeling!

 

A few weeks over here, a few weeks visiting over there, and they maintained the longest distance relationship on record with calls everyday, emails, and letters! Graduation came for Amber and then an extended trip to Vienna for 2 months! 

 

September 4, 2007 Andy asked Amber to marry him! He called her Dad first to ask his permission! It was very special and memorable - a story to share for generations to come! (For a more complete proposal story, see "The Proposal" link to your left).
