Amy & Zachary

We met online through Yahoo! Personals. After about a month of emails and online conversations we decided to meet in person. On March 18, 2006 we went on our first date - a Rochester Amerks hockey game and dinner. Despite the distance between us (Amy lives in Rochester, Zach in Buffalo) we knew we had something special, something definitely worth traveling for. Weekend dinner dates quickly turned into weekend day-long dates which quickly turned into entire weekends spent together.

It was a Buffalo weekend and we went up to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada to visit a few wineries and to enjoy the spring weather. We brought along a picnic lunch and stopped to eat in a little park in town. You can figure out what happened next! That was May 5, 2007 and we've been planning ever since!

Amy and her dog, Jala, live in the Corn Hill neighborhood of Rochester.  She works as an Enrichment Teacher at Bay Trail Middle School in Penfield.  Zach lives in Buffalo and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Structural Biology at the University of Buffalo through the Hauptman Woodward Institute.  

On our weekends together we enjoy visiting Rochester's Public Market, trying out new recipes (or introducing each other to old favorites!), shopping at the Galleria or Eastview malls, going to movies, watching The Office, spending time with our families and friends, and hanging out at the lake.
