Wellington Arch large

The Proposal

After spending three days in London, we were running out of time to see as much as we could of that wonderful city.  I suggested that we end the last day with a walk in a garden somewhere next to the River Thames.  Athough we could not find anything close to the river, I decided the next best place would be to visit the Buckingham Palace gardens.  Not realizing that this was not a public place and with the sun having set, we stopped at the Wellington Arch to decide what to do next.

As the stars shone on the clear, cool night, we sat on the curb in front of the Arch.  Flipping through the guide book, I told Anna that I had the perfect way to end the night.  I started to stand up and as Anna did the same, I turned to her and dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me.  This was indeed my perfect way to end an experience of a lifetime with the perfect woman.
