Editor's Quote! At 1,149 feet high, there really is no better backdrop than the whole of Las Vegas!
Your hearts will soar as you hold your wedding ceremony at the Stratosphere's Chapel in the Clouds.
Located 800 feet above the Las Vegas Strip, this chapel is higher than any other in the country. Sweeping views take one's breath away and serve as the perfect backdrop for any wedding day.
Toner Photography took our professional wedding pictures. We had stops at the Las Vegas Sign, New York-New York Bridge, Bellagio Fountains, and The Paris-Eiffel Tower. (Please see VENDORS tab for more information)
We had the time of our lives in Las Vegas-everything went smoothly, even boarding the planes with my dress as my carry on-I was so worried, but it wasn't a problem at all, the planes that didn't have closets, I just put it in the overheard.
The first thing we did was get our marriage license, which was really easy, since we already had the forms filled out so it was basically just paying $60 and we were done. =)
I'll go into details of the other things we did in Las Vegas besides the wedding on the "Vegas page"-but for now I'll just skip to the wedding... I got my hair and makeup done by Makeup in the 702 (Megan and Whitney did an AMAZING job...damn, I wanted to take them home with me! haha) then my mom helped me get ready and my parents and I met Jake and his parents in the lobby to meet with Toner Photography for our Las Vegas Strip Tour (we wanted Las Vegas wedding pictures and we sure got them see above!)
So while waiting in the lobby, DONNY OSMOND showed up (Donny and Marie are performing at the Flamingo) and I got to meet him and take a picture with him..haha he really is "a little bit Rock 'N Roll!" haha so we were off for our Las Vegas strip tour... President Obama was in Las Vegas so traffic was difficult, but Michelle with Toner Photography knows the ins and outs of Vegas so she got us where we needed to be and to the locations we wanted-LOVE HER! =D
After our professional photo tour, we get to the Stratosphere and take an elevator to the Top and met with Richard-the best Minister in Las Vegas and found out we got upgraded to their best chapel-the larger chapel! BONUS! This day just keeps getting better and better! Then it's time for the wedding to start and it all goes perfectly-then I see Jake's eyes getting a little glassy during the vows and so I started crying..ugh..not even sure what Richard (our minister) was saying at that point, but I was thankful he kept talking so I could pull myself together...so he pronounced us Husband and Wife and we kissed! The entire ceremony was 8 minutes long-we planned 2 years for it...and it was PERFECT! Short and sweet and to the point...LOVED IT!
Keeping in mind that I am a HUGE Elvis fan (I'm sure this doesn't come as a surprise to anyone) we turn around and there was all of my family members with Elvis glasses and sideburns on..it was great..I really wish the Stratosphere photographer would have got a picture of that...or of my expression...but she kind of sucked overall...SO HAPPY we got pictures with Toner Photography before our Ceremony! So we took a few pictures with the Photographer.
Then all of us went up to the outside observation deck and took more pictures...the view will take your breath away =D You really have to see it to know what I'm talking about..even the guests that were afraid of heights agreed it was worth it to see the view! haha...so as we are taking pictures a huge group of Japanese people came over and wanted their pictures with us and they were sooo funny and cute so we took some group photos with them, cause we weren't quite sure what they were saying they didn't really speak english. We felt like we were famous or something one of them even bowed to me! Only in Vegas! ;P So we took some more pictures and then we left to go change and eat dinner. Really the MOST AMAZING DAY OF OUR LIVES!
