All brides receive a phone consultation, during which we will discuss your schedule and when it would be best to fit in your mehndi, design preferences for the bride (and possibly bridal party, family, and friends).
Mehndi for the bride typically takes between 1 and 3 hours, but will vary based on design choice. An additional 10-15 minutes per guest at your mehndi party should be added to determine the total time required. Minimum appointment times above do apply, but typically bridal mehndi takes more time than these minimums.
This is wonderful if you will be having an especially large mehndi party.
After Henna Art
After your design, you want to wait until the henna is dry enough but not cracking. You want to dab the barest amount of lemon-sugar glaze on the henna to keep it moist. Using a cotton swab apply just a bit. Then you want to leave it on as long as you can.
Helpful Hints:
After scraping off the mud, try not to get the skin wet for several hours to help the color set better, about 4 or 5 hours. Traditionally the henna is left on overnight. If you use the lemon-sugar glaze, the henna will actually stay on overnight then the next day wash the henna dry mud off with worm water and dry. The less you wash the painted area, the longer the design will last. Swimming, hot tubs, dish-washing, etc. will all cause designs to fade more quickly. Applying lotions or creams to the skin can also result in less color retention.
(Please note) you can not remove a henna tattoo. The stain soaks into the skin and must wear off over time. The marks will be on your skin for two to three weeks or longer.

For the bride’s
Jessica specialty is bridal henna requiring intricate design work.
She has developed special designs several times for that discriminating bride who would look at a pattern and want a little bit of one and a little bit of another. The following tips are given to make life easier for you when planning your big day.
1. Plan for your henna day ahead of time. It is ideal to apply henna two days prior or the day before the big day since the color of henna deepens over the next 24 to 48 hours. 2. It takes 2 to 5 hours to complete a full bridal job, depending on intricacy of design. Henna needs to be in contact with your skin for about 6 to 8 hours.
3. Jessica will bring several patterns for the bride to choose from based on the bride’s choice of style. After the bride chooses a certain style and design Jessica might do a variation of the selected pattern if the bride agrees. This way, she is able to use her own creativity in the design as well. 4. It is advisable to have your henna or part of it completed the day before the henna party if you plan on getting intricate work done. There is less disturbance from your guests which helps the henna artist concentrate and do a good job on you. Or, start early on the same day as your henna party.
5. Any manicure or pedicure should be completed the day before your henna appointment. Getting a manicure after your henna may prevent the henna color from getting really dark because of exfoliation. 6. Jessica will share tips on henna after care so that you can get a restful sleep without damaging your henna design and get a nice dark color in time for your big day.
