Jason and Kell are having a private and intimate ceremony in the South West of Western Australia.
We will start our ceremony at 5.45pm on Halloween.
When we had our first kiss we were watching the movie "The Crow". In the movie Eric and Shelley were to be married on Halloween. We liked the date and the sentiment. We also thought it'd be cool to hold a Halloween party on our anniversaries.
Tim Burton also plays a part in the ceremony. He's the guy behind movies such as Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeney Todd and The Corpse Bride. He seems to have a things for his characters wearing black and white stripes so we will be having a stripy cake (made by the lovely Shae), the groom has a red and black striped suit and the bride will have some stripy things too.
The vows from The Corpse Bride will feature in our ring ceremony:
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows
Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine
With this candle, I will light your way in darkness
With this ring, I ask you to be mine.
We are planning a picnic in Kings Park near the Banksia garden where Kell got her engagement ring and likes to spend a ridiculous amount of time fuelling her obsession with these gorgeous native plants. We will wear our wedding clothes and bring any photos we might have developed in the short space between the ceremony and picnic.
We'd like family and friends to pack a picnic and join us for a celebration. Please note that BBQs are not available in this area.
Exact times to be advised but will be held Saturday 15th November.
"Golgotha Tenement Blues" - Machines of Loving Grace
(Part of this song will play whilst Jason is waiting. The song is from The Crow)
"On my Mind" - Powderfinger
(Kell will walk down the 'aisle' to this)
"Pick you up" - Powderfinger
"When something is wrong with my baby" - John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes
"Don't change" - Grinspoon
(We know it's an INXS song but prefer the cover)
"This is Halloween" - Marilyn Manson
(re-worked theme song to Nightmare Before Christmas one of Kell's fave movies)
