Is a wedding website on MomentVille really free?

YES! Creating your wedding website on MomentVille is free. We also have a premium option, but our free wedding websites are better than the competitors premium websites.

Will we ever be charged for our wedding website? It says that creating it is free, but what about keeping it?

Well, charging you later wouldn't be very nice of us, would it? We promise we will never charge in the future. You can have a free website that never expires. We started MomentVille with the idea of making a place where memories can last forever, because that is exactly what we wanted (and couldn't find elsewhere). We do have an optional upgrade which gives you a few advanced features, but if you are happy with the free website you can stick with that.

Will all features currently available to me at no charge remain available to me at no charge?

All of the features that are available to you when you sign up will remain available to you. There are no tricks here. We designed MomentVille because we couldn't find what we wanted elsewhere. That is: personal wedding websites that are free, easy to use, and don't expire!

Will my wedding website expire?

No, your wedding website will not expire. You can come back in 10 years and it will still be there. This is true for both free and premium wedding websites.

Is it possible to password protect our website?

You can set a password on your wedding website if you upgrade to one of our premium wedding websites. By doing this you can ensure that only visitors who have a password can see your website. Our free wedding websites do not have password protection.

Why are there advertisements?

In order to offer this service for free we do need to have some advertising on your website.

Only you will see the ads. We have spent considerable effort in making sure that the advertisments are for things that you will actually find useful (honeymoon specials, wedding rings, etc), so if you see something you like please click on it.

If you don't want to see advertisements you can easily upgrade to our premium wedding website.

Who will see the advertisments?

ONLY YOU will see the advertisments and only when you are logged in and editing your site. Your guests will not see the ads.

This helps to ensure that your special moment stays special, plus you get the benefit of learning about special deals which may help you plan your wedding.

Do I need a domain name?

No, you do not need your own domain name. When you create your site you will pick your own personalized web address. This will be something like www.momentville.com/JenAndMike

Can I use my own domain name (something like www.BrideandGroom.com)?

At this point in time we do not allow people to set up personal domain names through our website. You can purchase a domain on your own and set up domain forwarding, but we don't offer official support through MomentVille.

Can you add music to a MomentVille website?

Yes, you can add music to your website using widget elements. Have a look at this how-to article for more information: Learn How To Add Music

How come my music widget doesn't start playing music automatically?

When you create your music widget look for an option to "auto-play" or "play when loaded". This is an option that is set when you are creating the widget and is not related to MomentVille. If you need help you can fill out our help form and we'll do our best to assist you.

How do I make a slideshow?

Slideshows are not made directly on MomentVille. Instead, you make your slideshow on a dedicated slideshow site. Two common ones are: Rock You and Slide. Once you have made your slideshow on one of these sites you will be givin some code which you can 'embed' into MomentVille. To do this, add a 'Widget' element to your page, using the Add Element button at the bottom of your page. In the new widget element, paste the embed code that you got from your slideshow provider and hit 'Update'.

Are videos supported/allowed?

Absolutely!! You can add videos, slideshows, and music (to name a few) to your wedding website using our 'widget' elements. You can't upload videos directly to Momentville but you can add videos from YouTube, DialyMotion, or any other online video site that provides 'embed' code.

Can I give editing priveledges to another user (ie - my fiance)?

The best way to allow both you and your fiance to edit your website is to share a single username (email address) and password.

Can I see how many people visit my website?

Yes, you can use a counter widget to see how times your website has been viewed. Have a look at this How To article to learn how.

Can the RSVPs be made private so that only I can read them?

With our free websites, RSVP responses from guests willbe shown on the website for other guests to see. If you want to make the responses private, so that only you can see them, you can upgrade to a premium website.

Can I create a custom theme/background?

At present it is not possible for you to create your own theme. However, you can suggest a theme to us and we will try to best to add it. We prefer to add new themes based on requests from our users!

Can I remove the content of my website?

Yes, you can remove the content of your website at any time. You can do this by deleting individual elements on a page, hiding entire pages, or deleting your entire website. It is your content so we let you do what you want with it.

Is it possible to upload multiple photos at one time rather than uploading them individually?

At present there is no way to upload multiple files at once. However, we are constantly updating the features of MomentVille. You can expect better file upload and import features in the next couple of months.

Sometimes changes I have made do not appear right away, even if I hit refresh. Why is this?

In order to make sure that visitors to your site see your pages as quick as possible, we store your pages temporarily in a 'cache'. After you make changes, it may take up to a minute for your changes to make it into these temporary files.

How do I tell people about my site?

The best way to tell people about your site is to send an email with the personal web address that you have chosen for your site. We also recommend that you post a link on your blog, facebook profile, myspace page, or any other online place you commonly keep information.

What browsers are supported?

MomentVille has been designed for and tested with IE6+, Firefox 2+, and Safari 3 (Mac and Windows). MomentVille should work on most standards compliant browsers.

Does MomentVille work on a Mac?

We support both Firefox and Safari on Mac and PC.
