Add Music

With premium sites it's easy!

The best way to add music to your MomentVille website is to use MomentVille's music player, which is available for premium sites in the Settings->Music tab.

Uploading music directly to your site allows you to:

  • Play music on your site without interruption. Music will no longer stop and start every time your guests view a new page on your site.
  • Bypass music widgets. Most music widgets are complicated to setup and their service can be unreliable. Save yourself the pain and hassle!
  • Control how you want your music played. Setting playlist options like repeat and autoplay are a click of a button away.


      • For free sites - using widgets:

      If you don't have a premium site you can make use of our 'Widget' elements.

      Music can be added using a number of different types of Widgets.

      1. You can add a widget that only plays music (more on this below)
      2. You can add a slideshow widget that plays music and shows photos.  Slideshow widgets can be created on RockYou.com, Slide.com, or others. 
      3. You can add a video widget from the likes of Viddler.com, YouTube.com, DailyMotion.com, or others. 

      With these options, you needn't be limited to a pre-set selection of music. Instead, you can set exactly the mood that best suits you!

      Because each page on your website is a different page, you will not be able to have 1 song playing continuously as people go from one page to the next.  You can, however, put the same widget on each page if you want. This will mean the same song will play, but it will restart on each new page.

      Our users have had mixed experience with the various music widget providers, so we have done a quick review to help you choose one.

      Recommendations:

      If you want your own songs it will be slightly more work, but we recommend myflashfetish.com

      Reviews:

      ** MyFlashFetish.com : Wide range of music player styles.  Only supports your own songs.  You must upload your music to another service (boxstr.com) so this service requires setting up a couple of new accounts.

      eSnips.com : Lets you upload your own songs.  Also lets you upload other types of files.  Due to recent abuse eSnips stopped their auto-play feature. This means their music does not start automatically.

      Tunefeed.com : Lets you upload your own songs.  It requires that a play list be at least 14 songs long otherwise it fills it with random songs.  They have experienced a large number of "There appears to be an error. Please try again later" problems recently. We don't recommend Tunefeed for this reason.

      Sonific.com : Sonific has recently gone offline.

      Finetune.com : This music widget acts like a radio station. You create a play list from their library but it needs to be at least 45 songs long. Finetune music does not play automatically.
