Use RSVPs
You can create as many RSVPs on your website as you like. That means if you have multiple 'occasions' to organize (e.g. wedding shower, reception, etc.) you can keep track of each one separately.
What's more, MomentVille allows you to easily customize your RSVP to gather exactly the information you need from your guests. Gathering information like meal options or mailing addresses is simple.
MomentVille allows you to create 2 kinds of RSVPs, choosing the right one for you depends on your needs:
- Invite Only RSVPs
Invite Only RSVPs allow you to send your guests an email invitation, and each one of your guests will receive a unique RSVP code in their invite. This allows you to choose who is coming, track whether they have responded, and you or your guest can always update the RSVP at a later date if anything changes. - Public RSVPs
Public RSVPs allow you to put a RSVP form on your site so anyone who comes to the site can RSVP. This is a very informal method of gathering RSVPs.
Creating an RSVP
Invite Only RSVPs
To create an invite only RSVP go to "My Planning" -> "My Guests" and click on the 'Invites' tab. If you create an invite for a new occasion it will automatically create an RSVP unless you uncheck the 'Collect RSVPs' option in Step 1. To learn more about creating invites see our Invites How To section.
Public RSVPs
To create a public RSVP go to "My Planning" -> "My Guests" and click on the 'RSVPs' tab. Once there click on 'Create A New RSVP' and choose to create a public RSVP.
RSVP Options
You can configure RSVP options when you create an RSVP and update them once an RSVP is created by going to "My Planning" -> "My Guests" and clicking on the 'RSVPs' tab.
If you want to personally approve any postings and comments before they appear on the site make sure you enable post approval in the "My Website" -> "Settings" page.
Invite Only Options
An invite only RSVP allows you to optionally display any responses on your website. If you want to keep responses and comments private choose to 'Keep responses private'.
Public Options
Since public RSVPs must be displayed on your site you have to specify which page to display the RSVP form on. However you can choose to keep responses and comments private by selecting the 'Keep responses private' box.
Common Options
The following options are common to both types of RSVPs:
- Allow Maybes - Check this option if you want to give your guests the chance to say that they're undecided still. Otherwise they must answer yes/no.
- Ask guests for their mailing addresses - If you would like to collect mailing addresses so you can send a snail mail invitation this option will prompt your guests to leave their address. This is an ideal option for when you are sending a 'Save The Date' type of invitation.
- Ask for the details of people your guests bring - Check this option to prompt your guests to enter the names and answer any questions of the people that will coming in their party. Otherwise you will only know the number of people that are attending, and won't be able to gather any information like their names or meal options.
Ask guests a question
You can ask guests to answer an unlimited number of questions of your choosing with their RSVP. Whether you need to ask about Meal Options, Accomodation Preferences or just want to poll your guests this option is completely configurable and allows you to fully customize your RSVP. Just click on 'Add a New Question' and click on the questions and answers to update them. See Figure 1 below to see how to create a new question and Figure 2 for an example of what your guests will see when they RSVP.

Exporting RSVP Responses To A Spreadsheet
You can export your attendees to a spreadsheet at any time by clicking on the 'Export to CSV' link which is part of your RSVP on the RSVPs tab. CSV spreadsheets can be opened by any spreadsheet editor, including Microsoft Excel. Just save the csv file to you hard drive and open it with your favorite spreadsheet program.
Updating RSVP Responses
Invite Only RSVPsYou can edit the response of any invite only RSVP yourself. This is handy if you have guests that you want to track but don't have email addresses (so you have to edit the response) or if one of your guests verbally RSVPs. Just go to the RSVPs tab, find the guest whose email you would like to edit and click on the edit icon. Your guests can also always use their personal RSVP code to come back to your website and update their details.
Public RSVPs
Once a public RSVP has been made it cannot be updated.
Deleting RSVPs and RSVP responses
Invite Only RSVPsOnce an Invite Only RSVP has been sent to your guests it cannot be deleted. If you choose to delete the RSVP element on your website you won't delete the RSVP itself, you will just make the responses private. RSVP responses can be deleted by clicking on the red X beside the guests name on the RSVPs tab, however it will just change the guest from one who has responded to one for whom you are waiting for a reply.
Public RSVPs
To delete a public RSVP, go to the page where the RSVP is displayed and delete the RSVP like you would any other element. You can also delete any RSVP responses by going to the RSVPs tab and clicking on the red X next to the response you would like to delete.
