Crazy Energy!!!

I don't know where it is coming from, but I have crazy energy right now.... I feel like I took a double espresso of caffeine. But I haven't had any caffeine all day and have felt like this since I woke up this morning.

I have to put it in here : THANK YOU, TAMMY!!! One of my Bridesmaids and best friends, Tammy Stringer, made it into town yesterday adn basically told me she would be at my beck and call this week... and she meant it! She just spent the evening helping clean the River House for company and is driving out there tomorrow to put on the finishing touches.  and She gave me a box with a gift for every day until the wedding!!! Crazy Cool!!!   and as she would say "COOL BEANS!!!"

Britton waited up for me tonight to tell him a story and tuck him in... if it wasn't about me I would say AWWWW...    And tomorrow I am going to meet his school teachers. :) and be put on the list as a gardian. YEA!!!

I am also having lunch with Allison Turner, my wedding day coordinator, tomorrow. I am ready to iron out the details.

Peter and I picked up our rings Friday!!! His is beautiful .... but because we went at different times... I won't get to see my ring until 5:30ish on Saturday! Boo

My God Children and Bridesmaid Leslie made it to town ... Whoohooo!! We spent some time together at the Tea on Saturday.... which was one of the most exquisite afternoons I have ever spent!! See more about the Tea on the Thank yous page.

Amazingly, I do not feel a bit stressed.... just feel like I have a full plate. But I have NEVER felt so energized and excited. It really is hard to explain other than... if you thought I talked a lot before... whoo.... I am tired of hearing me! :)LOL!!!

4 DAYS TO GO!!!!!

April 07, 2009

10.....

OMG!!! I can not believe the wedding is in 10 days. I am so excited. I had my bridal portraits done on Saturday at The Charleston Place Hotel. It was so much fun to be in my wedding gown adn do a test run with all my make up and hair! There was a little girl in the hotel who stop and asked me if I was a princess.... I told her ... "I feel like one today..." Mom and I will be choosing a shot for the portrait from the 380 that they took tonight!

I would say that I can't wait for the wedding week to get here... but I am afraid I would not get everything done if I rushed it even one second. Guest will starting arriving in Charleston on Saturday!!!! 3 DAYS!!! and I still have so much to do! I am sure my mom and I will be pulling a couple long nights. :) I moved all of my clothes (except honeymoon and the next week's worth) to Peter's last night and amazingly we still have room to spare in his closet. Of course... that is just my clothes... we'll see what the house look like in a couple weeks when all my stuff follows me there. :) Tomorrow night will be the last night that Peter and I will have alone until we are husband and wife so I am going to enjoy the night and then worry about getting everything packed up to live there.

ALSO.... There is a new baby on the farm..... you can meet Pegasus (Gus) on my Blog site at http://amygrace77.blogspot.com/.

10 days.... and there is going to be a wedding!!!

April 01, 2009

Koufeta, Accent Monograms, Cake Toppers... Oh My

So we are now up to our eyeballs in Koufeta treats for everyone. The only thing that kept me tieing the little bows and punching the holes in the never ending bag of Koufeta favors was thinking about individuals that will be sitting at their seat in 19Days and receiving the little things. I wanted everyone to be done correctly because what if it's yours.... I wouldn't want you to think I rushed through your favor and so on goes the perfect tieing of koufeta bows and the decorating of accent monograms and the little details that untill you throw a wedding, or are the bride, you don't realize ~ someone had to do all this... !!! :)

It is going to be so beautiful!!!

Peter and I are getting very excited about our honeymoon. We talke about it about as much as the wedding at this point.

The guest list is DONE!!!! We have heard from everyone and are ready to move forward with the caterer. I will be working this week on the photographer and DJ details.

AND ~ two big things happened this weekend..... Friday I had my dress fitting and it is unreal!!!! In about a week and a half I will pick it up for my bridal portraits!! Nanny went with us to the dress fitting, I was glad to be able to include her in the day. We also had a shower on Sunday and received some really nice gifts.

18 days to go!!! Peter and I couldn't be more exctied!!!

March 24, 2009

AutoPilot

Everything is on Autopilot at this point. We had so much fun at the shower on Saturday. All of the festivities and gifts fit the entertainer's theme to a tea... !

Peter picked up our new horse trailer on Saturday morning and it is beautiful. Unfortunately, due to timing, I am unable to go on the first trip in it with him. I am crazy busy trying to pack things up and move them to Peter's. Plus, while autopilot is a great thing... someone still needs to supervise and I can't do that from out of town.

Things are getting really upbeat around here.... everyday is a new excitement... we can't wait to be "The Plotts"

March 16, 2009

1 MONTH!!!!

We are down to 1 month!!!  or 31 days!!!  or 744 hours!!!

Anyway you say it is.... I can't belive it has come so fast! This Saturday is our very first Wedding related activity. Sarah and Bethany will be hosting an Entertainer's Shower! We can't wait to see everybody!

Are wedding bands are in and we are considering havin them engraved before picking them up... It is very intense to have to think of something that will be written..."in stone" :)

We are getting very excited about our trip to Jamaica. Everytime I give the count down for the wedding, Peter responds with the count down to us being IN JAMAICA! We are looking for a time to go get in the pool and check off on our brush up for diving.

I tested out a french manicure this week and foudn it makes me feel very Bride-ish! Plus it makes my gorgeous ring look bright and elegant!

Very little left to do now!!! Mom and I are on top of lots of details and just watching everything unfold. It is truely going to be an amazing month!!!!

March 11, 2009

Showers of Blessings

I can't believe it is real. I have been so blessed with friends and family that are so generous. Thank you to everyone who is hosting, participating in, and attending the showers that are being offered!

We are in the last month of planning and everything is coming together. I know that I am going to be overwhelmed at how it all unfolds. But.... I am most excited to see Peter's reaction to everything. While he has been a GREAT Finace and chimed in when asked... he mostly let me make all of the decisions...

I am so excited! I can barely keep my seat at work all day! I am anxious to get home and see RSVPs that come in each day and we recevied our first 2 wedding gifts from Peter's Cousins in California, Alexis, Jon and Sophia(newborn... congratulations!!!) and from Lahra's (a bridesmaid) parents in Georgia, John and Marilyn Meusel!!! IT'S REAL.... RSVPs and gifts are arriving ... we're going to have to "Put on show, stop."

March 05, 2009

Details!!Details!!!Details!!!

40 days till I am Mrs. Peter Plott. We have spent every free second we have taking care of details. Wrapping gifts, fixing favors, and printing programs. I had no idea, even after Kelly's wedding, how much there would be to do... it must be like childbirth, mother's forget the birthing process and remember the joy of the baby.... my mother must have forgotten the planning in order to commit to doing this again. :) But the result will be worth every late night.

RSVPs are starting to roll in and it is so exciting to see everyone who is coming. Thanks everyone for the sweet comments and well wishes.

We recevied our first shower invitation today. Sarah and Bethany have offered to host a coed drop in shower with an entertainment theme. It is going to be so much fun!

There have been a lot of epiphany moments lately where I realize that I am getting married... I informed Peter that I have never lived with a guy before other than my dad and brother... he apologized in advance... anyone want to clue me in on why he felt the need to apologize... :) ??

***INVITATION ANNOUNCEMENT***

You might have noticed the big announcement on the front page of the website... So if this is the big glitch... then at least it is out of the way. We mailed the invitations and found out that there is no time on them.... so incase you have not gotten the word already....

THE WEDDING IS AT 5:00 PM!!!

We can't believe it happened... we have read the invitation at least a hundred times and never noticed! We even showed it to a few people and no one picked up on it.... but it is what it is.

The exciting thing is that there are 49 days till the wedding and all the invitations have been mailed. We are definitely into the details of things now and getting ready to pull out all the wedding related bags of stuff in my mom's house and start going through and seeing what all we have bought. :) It will be fun to watch things really start to come together. 3 showers have been graciously offered and a bachellorett party is in the making  ;o !!

We can't wait for everyone to get here and spend the weekend with us!

Things Are Moving Right Along

The invitations are printed and the details are all falling into place. Peter and I have ordered our wedding bands, put a deposit down on the honeymoon and are celebrating our last Valntine's Day as singles!!! :) Peter gave me a beautiful Tiffany & Co. sterling and gold Hook and Eye Bangle bracelet that I just LOVE as a Valentine/early Wedding present! I will be wearing it down the aisle. My mom and/or I get something done everyday. Yesterday it was the music list for the ceremony (with lots of help from Kelly), today, the inserts for the invitations... it gets crazy around here but with every detail we are getting a little bit closer to the most beautiful day of my life! I hope and pray that all of you are have someone to share this lovely day with and Peter and I wish all of you a very Happy Valentine's Day!!!

So Many Details

There are so many details. I thought getting all of the big decisions out of the way would make it easier, but I am figuring out now that coordinating people, places and things for a wedding is full of little lists, details, and decisions that I never thought about. Luckily, I have a fantastic mother who is really taking on the lion's share of the work and great bridesmaids who are calling and keeping my mind at ease!

Peter just finished competing in the biggest show of his cutting career and did very well. Now it is time to move on the the wedding focus. He and I have a long list this weekend of things we would like to check off the list and he has promised me his undivided attention to the details for the next couple weekends. We'll see how that goes.. :)

I have gotten great song suggestion from a lot of people in the bridal party through email. I would love to hear from everybody else. Submit your song request as a question on the Request Music page to the left.

75 DAYS!!! Whoohoo! We are so excited!

THE DRESS

It's official... invitation are printed and ready to be addressed and sent and.... I found THE DRESS!!!! That is a huge weight off.... not literally .. :)

The dress should be here by March 1st, which is cutting it close but my wonderful dress consultant De Borah of De Borah's Bridal on Old Towne in Charleston, SC says she is certain we have nothing to fear!

It was not an easy task... but unlike the first experience, it was because there were too many to choose from that were all exquisite. It came down to two. My mom and I set out on the Saturday morning mission: COME HOME WITH DRESS PURCHASED! but had to call in reinforcements to help make the final decision. Kelly, Caleb and Sophia came and gave their 2 cents and then Aunt Cindy and Kelsy showed up to give vote for a favorite and after much discussion and trying each of them on 3 times... we were unanimous! and in order to not spoil the surprise ... I will stop there.

Now on to a florist and a cake and the wedding will fall into place. Time to get this party started...    89 days!

January 12, 2009

Happy New year!

Wow.... Guess What!!! I am getting married this year! Peter and I are so excited to be in the double digit days count down. Mom and I have moved into full gear with the plans.

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and that 2009 has started out as fabulous for you as it has for us. We spent a week in Florida at the NCHA winter circuit where Peter out did himself in arena and place 2nd in his class. I spent most of the time shopping and enjoying the 80 degree weather. I also went down to Bo's and met his new puppy, Penny. On new year's eve we kissed at midnight... which to most of you may seem obvious... but it is the first year we have kissed at midnight since we met. He also took the oportunity to ask is daily proposal... the first of 2009! We are so in love it is even making me think ugggh.... is it for real?!

Invitations were ordered last night ... so if you don't think we have your address, please send it to one of us and be watching the mail box.

Happy New Year to All of you and we look forward to seeing everybody in 96 DAYS!!!

Jingle All The Way

We've put all wedding details off untill after the holidays! and are celebrating the season in busy excitment. It started with a trip to Florida to watch Bo graduate from Law school. We have been on "GO'" since we got back to Charleston. Christmas has been so much fun! Peter and I threw our Holiday party for the family on the 23rd. Our house was decked out in Christmas! The lights on the porch looked like a little winter wonderland on the farm as you drove in. We made smore's and hot chocolate and exchanged gifts with everyone who came. We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house where Britton opened a ton of presents and played with Caleb and Sophia and all the toys. FOOD was delicious! If I ever see a pound gone to try on dresses.... it will be a "Christmas miracle." :) Christmas morning was a chaotic mess of paper and toys.... but soo much fun. "My Santa" suggested that we buy our wedding rings for Christmas but also showed up in the living room on Christmas morning with a "Your Story" scrapbooking machine. Whoohoo!!!  I am sure that will come in handy over the next ...say... 50 years! Peter and I are leaving for the winter circuit horse show in Florida on Sunday and will return on Jan. 2 with 100 days to the wedding!! There will be plenty to do and we can't wait! But for now, we wish you all a very happy holidays!

A Peek at Christmas Future

Peter and I put up all of our holiday decorations out over the last week and I must say I got a little emotional looking at a tree that combined history from both of our lives into one. With his Yiayia's antique glass ornaments, Britton's handmade ornaments, and my varied collection from years past, the tree is quite beautiful. We also put up lights and drove in on the four wheeler from the street just to see how it would look as guests were arriving. We plan to have family over on the 23rd to celebrate the holiday. I can't wait to show off our blended Christmas decorations.

Honeymoon

Peter and I met for lunch on Friday and went to see the travel agent about our honeymoon. It was so exciting to think about our trip together. We both agreed on the type of vacation but had trouble choosing a trip package. We are waiting on the agent to email us with options. I am so thrilled about the trip. It will be the first time I have ever gone over seas. We are still planning on Greece but are open to other options. We'll just have to see what they offer. Right now we are leaning toward a 10-12 day Mediterian Island hopper. Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens.

This is going to be a fantastic trip no matter what we plan. But right now... I am actually more excited about figuring out his secret of the honeymoon night. He won't tell where we are staying and only gave clues... that's alright... just wait till I have secrets to hold from him...  :)

Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!

Peter and I are so greatful today to have such wonderful family and friends! We spent the day at Aunt Cindy's with a house full and then went to see Loretta and Mac's (close friends of the fam on Peter's side.) The turkey, ham, corn pudding, macaroni pie, stuffing, gravy, and chocolate cake were out of this world. But the family and friends, swings, dogs, crisp air, prayer, football, thanks and the freedom to celebrate it all are what made today fabulous! Clemson/Carolina game is this Saturday and we are planning to have a few over to enjoy the day with us. We are looking forward to it! We hope all of you had a wonderful Turkey Day! God Bless America!

PS... we booked the DJ and the Photographer this morning!! WHoohoo... its getting closer :)

November 27, 2008

North Carolina

We had a blast!!! The conditions for skiing were prefect. 12" of new snow and a 40" base. Peter's skills quickly made him look like a duck in water and I was able to know the rust off my skis in under an hour. We enjoyed spending time with Igor and Sofia. I will post pictures and more to the story of the trip to my blog soon. http://amygrace77.blogspot.com/

No dress still and it is gettig close. We picked photographer .... but haven't confirmed him yet. Keep your fingers crossed that he stays available.

November 25, 2008

SKIING

So finally we are on our way to adding skiing to our repertoire of activities. A very impromptu trip has been planned and we leave today with Igor and Sofia to hit the first of the season on Sugar Mountain, NC. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I haven't skied in 3 years and Peter has only skied once ever before... we're probably in for some sore bottoms, but, with only 2 days on the slopes, it will force us to suck it up and ski down. :) What a way to start the holidays~

The Registry

We have officially registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Target. We had so much fun... I am not sure if Peter would recall the same excitement, but it was time we had together. Picking out a wish list is not as easy as you think it would be. I felt really materialistic only to come home and find out that they add all of those little things after you leave that match your choices. I have wondered when printing out a 30 page registry... "Who needs 10 different serving spoons?" Well, much to BB&B's dismay, I have deleted anything we did not specifically see and like or need. For instance, we register for pots and pans that have non stick coating... you can only use nylon utensils in them ... so logically we only registered for nylon utensils. I got home and had the entire line of Calphalon utensils, stainless steel and all. !!!???? What are they thinking? Anyway, if you have ever printed a registry and though... What the Heck!!? Now you know... it may not have been the couples' decision to add all those $2.00 items and the entire line of serving pieces.

November 19, 2008

How will he ask today?

Yesterday Peter had Britton call and ask, "Will you marry my dad?" He has been crazy romantic in holding to his commitment to ask me every day till the wedding. I am just excited to get to say yes at least a 150 more times!!!! Our day dreams in the car trip back from the horse show in Waccamaw, NC about life styles of the rich and famous were very interesting.... If money wasn't issue.... what would we want to do differently? Turns out, we would do everything we do now.... just more of it after we quit our jobs... :) I think the only thing we added was an annual ski trip.... Other than the Adams', who we already can count on.... who else wants in?

There is nothing new with the wedding plans... we are in the process of locating addresses and choosing vendors for things like flowers and photos... but we have food, a place, and a DJ.... there is going to be a party~ The rest is all going to fall in place. If you have one of our email addresses, it would be great to send us your mailing address if you haven't already written it down on a 3"x5" card for us! (If you don't know what that means.... you haven't done it and should email us your address... :) )

The Engagement Party

Peter and I had so much fun at the engagement party on Sunday! Thank you to everybody that came out to celebrate with us! We are so blessed to have such great friends and family. I have to say the only down side is that we were unable to sit and chat with any one group of friends. Hopefully the holidays will give us opportunities to see everybody at a more intimate gathering.

159 DAYS TO GO!!!

We have a DJ ... Jim Bowers, often seen at Pivots and an excellent Party maker. The wedding is going to be a blast. If you have a song request for dancing... send it to us! We are going to 2step, swing and shag the night away and don't want anyone to have an excuse to not get on the floor and shake their booty! :)

November 03, 2008

The "Secret Lunch Date"

Peter picked me up for a “secret lunch date” today, and surprised me with a trip to the court house to register for our marriage license. Whoohoo! As of noon tomorrow we will be legally able to get married in the state of South Carolina. I did not realize how exciting filling out a piece of paper could be.

Aunt Harriett took us out to dinner at Tbones Monday to talk about the engagement party! It sounds like it is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to see everybody there!

October 29, 2008

It's Real.... I've been shot already!

Thursday was our first official marriage counseling session with Father John. Peter and I agreed since we will be married twice we should have to go through counseling twice... once in each church and once with each Pastor/Priest. Father John basically just had paper work for us to fill out and got us thinking about the types of things we will be discussing. We will fulfill the rest of the visits when my Thursday night Bible study is over... as to not over crowd our weeks.

So the first experience with dresses happened and it's real. I was shaky when I went to fill out my information on the registry. Holly came in town for a surprise visit and we all spent the night at Kelly's house on Friday. Saturday morning we went to IHOP and David's Bridal. We had a lot of fun. Kelly and Holly modeled the potential dresses and I tried on at least 8-10 wedding styles. We are pretty set on a style that works best for me but haven't decided anything. I am going to go back on a day my mom can be there and look at a few more... and I am still on my mission to trim down... especially after Saturday!

Saturday night, Peter and I went to a dinner party at Gene Forney's house and had a good time laughing and eating great stuff with the old MUSC crowd. The steaks were fantastic despite their nonhelp on my mission to get thin. The weather was beautiful. Sunday came too quickly. We spent the day relaxing after attending church at Holy Trinity. (Peter's Greek Orthodox Church) and saw the Fantastic Shakers (they were in town to honor Billy Scott's initiation into the JB Pivots Musician's Hall of Fame) with Gerry, Tina, Karen and Julie.  Good Times!!

We are having dinner with Aunt Harriett tonight to talk about the engagement party whoohoo!

October 27, 2008

Take a breath... hold it.... zzzzzip

Kelly has scheduled my 1st dress trying on adventure to David's Bridal... I am not looking forward to the size I will have to buy (wedding dresses usually run small to true size... so she says) to fit all of myself comfortably in something and try to look like a princess. I am excited however to watch her try on bridesmaids dresses. We are pretty sold on the one I think we'll go with, but we want to try it on first and make sure there isn't something similar for less... As for my dress... an idea would be an overstatement. We have been all over the amp with what I should wear... so the fact that I can't tell you here doesn't really make a difference... We'll all just have to wait and see. ;) Peter and I are going dancing tonight. We haven't been in about 3 months, so this should be funny. I hope we go a little more often with the wedding coming up... We don't want to look like we are doing the "high school sway."

A deposit has been made and the pace of everyone's excitement has settled a bit... which is a good thing. Engagement party is just around the corner and we are still trying to get in touch with everyone who doesn't have email addresses. If you think you should come... just show up ... It will be a blast.

October 21, 2008

Things aren't slowing Down!!!

Peter has asked me to marry him every day since the official proposal. The excitement so far does not revolve around guest lists and calendar dates... but we are both excited none the less. We have picked out the big details for the reception and mom is ... as we speak... 2 minutes into the meeting with Redbank room to sign the dotted line.

It has been crazy but I think after today, everything will settle down. :o) I hope... after today everything will settle down.

I leave for Clemson this weekend to watch my faculty advisor and professor from my graduate program retire and see Clemson square off to Georgia Tech. Whoohoo… so all wedding plans will come to a stop after 6:00am tomorrow morning. At least until I return!

October 16, 2008

Locked In!

The church is confirmed for April 11th!! We will book the reception hall on Tuesday and this site will be made public this week!!! WOW... We're getting married!

October 12, 2008

6 Months To Go!!!

6 months to go and we are on a roll. Mom and I met with the planner at the Redbank Club and we're very happy with everything! (Dad of course made a very valid point, too; At least you know they won't go out of business in the next 6 months.... a lot of places will.) The date is set for April 11 and we are planning the details. We've decided on everything to be black and cream. It has been a crazy few weeks. I am hoping that with the venue booked things will be a little less stressful. Peter has asked me to marry him everyday since the proposal. If it were up to him, we'd be in Vegas tonight!! :) Pastor and Robert have agreed to be available and all attendants have been confirmed. We are so grateful to have such wonderful friends and extended family.

October 12, 2008

Everyday!!!

It is amazing how fast everything seems to be moving. Peter and I have already been engaged for 12 days! We have a wedding website and an engagement party already planned. We are penciled in at the Redbank Room for the reception. Mom and I will be meeting with them in the morning to discuss details and make a decision. The elders are meeting on Sunday to discuss the church being used on the Saturday before Easter, April 11th. If all goes well, we will have a date and be ready to rock! There have already been so many thoughts on the type of wedding, the dress, the decor... it has been a whirlwind. But I know my mom, and I am sure whatever we decide, she will make it the most memorable night of my life! I will try to update regularly! I am so excited!

Everyday
