Peter and I are so blessed to have the friends that we have. The attendants in our wedding are true examples of loyal freindships and dedicated family.
Kelly Reser, My Sister, My Matron of Honor, What can you say about how you met your sister other than it was destiny... :) I am just lucky to say she is also my best friend. She lives in Summerville with her husband, Tom and her two children, Sophia and Caleb.
Lahra Byrne, Met through unbelievable coincidences and formed an immediate friendship of laughter, good times, and parallel living. She lives in New Mexico with her husband Chris.
Below: a note from Lahra to Amy...
Dear Amy,
I think it is incredible how we met through my mom knowing a friend of your mom’s! I moved to Charleston for a fresh start and met you and your mom in a parking lot! You were like “you wanna be roommates?” and I was like “sure!”…you saved me from living in a really bad place! You were an awesome roommate! We had so much fun together…partying downtown and hanging out at the apartment. We supported each other and shared “war stories” while surviving a really tough school year. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend. I smile every time I look at pictures of you and me having a blast in Charleston and will cherish those memories forever. And now Chris and I can create new memories with you and Peter! How exciting! You’ve found a good one…he passed my interviews and tests! J I am so happy for you.
Best wishes as you start this new chapter in your life.
Love, Lahra
Jeff Brown...lives in Charleston with his wife, Hilary and their son, Liam.
A Note From Peter
Poor Jeff! What he used to put up with! Steven (his brother) and I used to wrestle together and were/are close friends. Soccer never prepared Jeff for the two wrestlers that would appear in the house in need of a practice dummy. Never the less, I think Jeff’s college years allowed him enough time to forgive and almost forget the agrivation of dealing with Steve and me. After college, Jeff and I found many similar interests, mostly chasing girls, well, dancing. I was too shy to ask any of them out. Low and behold, here we are some 20+ years later. Both Caught!
Pete Ferri and his wife Lauren live in Meggett.
A Note From Peter
We met around August 1996 when I bought a young horse, Mr. Playboy’s Bill, aka “Playboy,” from the farm where I was a trail guide. He was bread for cutting Pete was a cutting trainer. I was ready to give it a shot. Through the years our friendship grew more than my cutting ability. Thank God for Pete’s patience and our friendship. Most trainers would have turned Playboy & me out years ago.
Stephen Adams, "Teddy" here with his wife, Kristi. The Adams have 3 children.
A Note From Peter
"Kristi … Are you really marrying the guy from the Pool room?" Kristi was my study partner at CofC. One day she told me she was getting married. When she told me who it was, I turn, looked over my shoulder, pointed at Stephen and said “HIM”. I didn’t even think he had put the pool cue down long enough to go out on dates. Then I thought, maybe she will distract him long enough so that I might win a game for a change. Not yet! We made it out of CofC and went our separate ways. Then one day while working at MUSC, Stephen, soon to become “Teddy” (that’s another story,) comes strolling through the room. He had just gotten a job there. We became lunch buddies and the rest is history.
Gerry McDevit and his wife Tina.
A Note From Peter
Gerry was managing a Restuarnt/Country Bar in downtown Charleston. I just happen to be hanging out with several beautiful young ladies, Jeff and I refer to them as "our dancing harom." Well, Gerry kept asking them to dance, may have even thrown out an invite for a date. But in the end, he just became part of the crew. Gerry, Bobbi, Teresa, Melissa, Brian, and I just couldn’t stop looking for trouble together and now, here we are. We took a few more down the road with us along the way. Right Mrs. McDevitt?
Igor Agrest is married to Sofia and they have two daughters.
A Note From Peter
During college, this really quiet, sort of intimidating, guy would show up and sit in the back of the class. About half way through year, I found out he was married to the very attractive girl who sat next to me in class. I often thought about moving to a different seat. As it turns out he was just scouting out the competition as it pertains to computers. He already had a degree from the university in Russia and was taking a few classes to figure out what he would need to know for our job market. As chance would have it, a year or so after my run in with Stephen at MUSC, here comes Igor. I was interviewing him as a potential team mate. We worked closely together for many years at MUSC and while our professional lives took us in separate directions, our friendship did not part ways.
Steve Layton is a sworn bachelor and enjoys golfing, hunting and fishing with Peter.
A Note From Peter
Good lord … When was it? Sometime around 6th & 7th grade we terrorized the neighborhood, then joined Demolay (Masonic youth organization), and shortly there after, the hunting and fishing started … and never stopped. I think back to our youth and still can’t figure out how we would hunt and fish 8 days a week. But somehow we did, and have the photos to prove it. Duck season is almost here ……
Bruce Emily and his wife Sonya.
A Note From Peter
Bruce was Gerry’s Field Training Officer when he joined the Charleston Police Department. Gerry and I had become very close friends over the year or two prior and anyone who looks out for your brother, becomes a brother as well. We’ve traveled a long hilly road together, but this year has proven to be worth it all. He married Sonya earlier this spring and I ask Amy to be my Bride.
