Final update on the dress... The second dress I ordered won't make it on time to get it hemmed (supposedly due to the volcano, but I don't see why something from China would go through Europe...) so that was cancelled. This is the final dress. I'm quite excited about it really. It's not strapless like I wanted, but I feel like it goes with the more vintag-y feel I had in my head in the beginning when I decided on the birdcage veil. It's from Unique-Vintage.com which is a really cool site if you like vintage style dresses and things.
I'm really contemplating buying these shoes as my wedding shoes. I really think they'll go with the style of my dress and birdcage veil combo, plus the black will look nice with the black sash on my dress.
This was the inspiration for my neclace. This is what I came up with.
Want to have a birdcage veil like the one at David's Bridal (pictured here), but we're going to try to make one ourselves since $125 seems oulandish to me. :)
I'm at a loss as to how to do my hair with a veil like that. Some ideas?
We scrapped the dresses we had planned on, and are going with cute black halter dresses. Also, Cori made beautiful green wraps for her and Jami to wear!
Cori has made a moustache and lips and a frame for the Photobooth! They are adorable and I can't wait to see certain people (like my grandma!) using these in the Photobooth.
I've compiled a list of some songs I'd like played at the Reception so far. Since there won't be any dancing I can hand pick most of the songs and they can be any style of music I want, so that's nice.

Since we've been living in Istanbul teaching for awhile, we wanted something to reflect our love for this city. We decided to find our rings at the Kapalıçarşı (The Grand Bazaar).
We're going with damask stenciling. The cake shown is from Martha Stewart, but ours will be black instead of pink. At the moment, not sure how many layers to do yet.
I am doing half of my favors tile coasters (handmade by my cousin, sister and mom) in the wedding colors, and half handmade backgammon boxes. I'm still working on designing the backgammon board in our colors, but here's a shot of some of the unfinished coasters. Great job to my family!
Got the backgammon board file done (here it is, but the green is a brighter green in the pdf than in this jpg), and that is the label for the front of the box that it will be in. They are 5x7 gift boxes. I got the dice here in Istanbul for 10 lira for 80 die, and we ordered small wooden pieces for the game pieces (which we will paint black and white). The only thing left is to figure out how to print instructions small enough to fit in there!
Our rehearsal dinner will be combined with decorating (a.k.a. slave labor), so we wanted to order something in (it's nice that our venue has a built-in kitchen). This is what we're pretty set on ordering. YUM!
