Bridal Shower

20090523_029

My bridal shower was this past weekend.  It was so much fun and I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people and gifts that showed up! We had a great turn out…..So great in fact that it took my entire Jeep and my Papa’s truck to get all the gifts back to my house.

The decorations of the shower were beautiful!  My Aunts (Vic J, Vic C, Jeannie, and Rita) along with my grandmother’s (Dot and Judy) got it all together for me.  My cousin Emily also helped with the balloons and taking names of gifts and givers.  The cake had Clemson Tiger Paws on it.  It was adorable.  There were orange balloons on all the tables, and the punch was sherbet green. The colors all went together very nicely.

After the shower was over Tyler, my Papa, Dad, Uncle Randy M., and Brother all came to help clean up and load up gifts into the vehicles.  It didn’t take long to get packed up with all of them helping.  The next day Tyler and I packed all of our things into bins that Jonathan and Lindsey let us borrow and stuffed it all in the attic until July when we will be moving back to Mississippi!  We stayed up until about 2 a.m. writing “Thank You” notes but we got them all done.

Lindsey took lots of  pictures at the Shower and gave us the picture CD as part of our gift ~~ you can see them by clicking on this link.

Bridal Portraits

Hello All! It’s been a while. Only 38 days to go till the Big Event!! Yippee!! I had my bridal portraits made in Clemson last week.  The famous Lindsey Mart you all hear about so much from Lindsey Edens and myself was my photographer! Of course I cannot show you my portraits, but let me just say that I am about to break the bank!  I cannot decide which ones to use! They are all so very "me".

My best buddy and Maid of Honor Stacy, went with me to help out with the dress and what not. She at one point in time had my wedding shoes, my make up bag, my lipstick, part of my dress, AND was walking in heels up the bleachers of DEATH VALLEY to help me not fall. She is amazing!! My mom also went to help.  We had a lil mishap because when we got to the stadium I was going to take a certain picture where I had to sit down on the wall however, there were CHIGGERS everywhere!!!! Never fear...my mom went back out to the car got a blanket and wiped off a HUGE area for me to sit, now THAT’S love. Ewe gross those lil bugs covered the place!

After we finished and the light had faded Mom and Stacy and I went to the "Madren Center" and tried to get a few shots on the lake. Some of them turned out beautiful and you will be seeing those at the reception as well.  The lady that owns the barn has several easels so we are set for a go.  After the pictures, I changed into my cute lil shirt Tyler got for me from Victoria's Secret, and we went to Sonic for a burger and a milkshake.

We So Good We Made Our Own!!!

DSCF3190

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The flowers for our wedding are absolutely perfectly wonderfully amazing and FABULOUS!!  We went Saturday March 15th to Debra Chapman’s flower shop called "Something Unique" in Williamston.  If you are looking for a different spin on things and a perfect sense of “taste” and style you gotta get Debra to meet your flower needs.

My mom had already purchased all the flowers here and there as she found some that fit the color scheme I wanted.  She and I both were a little worried at first about how the huge range of flowers was actually going to work out.  Every time I was in town to help I would pick out some glittery, flashy things and by the time we packed the car up with the variety to take to Debra we were skeptical how all of it would come together.

We arrived at 1:30 and stayed for three hours at “Something Unique.”  Now obviously I am not going to show ya'll what the flowers look like; just believe me when I say they are perfect! I showed Debra a picture that I liked, and all I said was, “I like vintage, bold, fabulous, and sparkly!”  She took those words and ran with them, starting on my bouquet first.  While she was working on that, Tyler got busy separating peacock feathers; yes folks, I said peacock feathers!!! There is no way you can look at the variety of feathers and the colors on the feathers of a peacock and not know that God exists.

We all swapped jobs back and forth amongst ourselves, and eventually Tyler and I settled into the role of making the boutonnieres; Mom made the bridesmaid's bouquets; and Debra worked on my bouquet, put the finishing touches on the bridesmaids bouquets, wrapped the boutonnieres, wrapped the bouquets, glued the feathers in, and basically made everything snazzy!!

We all had a great time, and I can’t stop going down to the basement room (where we are storing them) to look at them!  I even told Mom that I was just going to have to take my bouquet back to Mississippi with me so I can look at it every day!  Of course that would never fly, but I so would if I thought I could carry it in my car ~ with three dogs and a cat ~ there and back and it survive. :)

Baseball in Alabama!

Hello Everyone!

That boy pictured above is so darn good lookin' it makes my head spin! I got to see him this weekend but only for a brief moment it felt like.  His team (SWU) was scheduled to play in Alabama (AUM) which is only 4 hours away from me.  So, being the great Fiancé I am :) I drove up to see the boy......mainly because that new uniform is SMOKIN' on him. hahaha... Oh, sorry.

Soooo, back to the story.  I got to AL with no problems.  My good friend Juliana kept Mowgli, Chance, and Xena for me, and they did great which I was so very thankful.  I got to the hotel shortly after the team did so naturally they were all in the lobby when I walked in the door.  Tyler came up to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss (sorry Dad)......while this was going on several of the teammates started clapping (how completely embarrassing....but kinda like a movie scene) :)

After that I had to book a room for one night because the team was scheduled to play two games Saturday night and one game on Sunday afternoon.  I talked with the lady at the front desk who was very nice and gave me the same rate as she had given the coach for the entire team. YAY!! Perfect weekend right ?.......NOT.

I followed the team to the field, but of course they had to be there HOURS early so I left again and went to Chic-Fil-A to eat lunch(yeah! there are NO Chic-Fil-A's near me in Mississippi).  I returned to the field uneventfully and started to study for my Infectious Agents Exam (which I am currently procrastinating).  The game began at four; and although Tyler did a great job, the team got their butts kicked in BOTH games (the second being the worst).  By the end of the second game it was FREEZING OUTSIDE!!!!  I had on a sweatshirt, a rain coat, and my Carhart jacket as well as an awesome camo Clemson ski cap that my dear "cousins-in-law" gave me for Christmas!

We finally got back to the hotel, and I went with Tyler and three of the baseball guys to Taco Bell for supper. We had a great time and it was a lot of fun hearing the stories of Tyler while I am not around.  He is a much "liked" guy apparently. :)  Returning to the hotel we noticed some folks in the hot tub so we sat with our feet in the BOILING hot water till 11:30 p.m. when the team had to report back to their rooms for the night (which is earlier than normal and I will always hold to it that it was JUST because I was there....and girlfriends/fiancés are a distraction right? :( )

The next morning, Sun., Tyler and I had planned to get up early and eat Continental Breakfast together before the rest of the team got up......WELL at 7:22 a.m. Tyler calls and says "Babe we are going home"  :(  I wanted to cry.  I looked outside and there was SNOW everywhere! The game had been cancelled and the coach wanted to beat the rest of the storm out of the area......so I hurried to pack my stuff, checked out, and by 8:00 on the dot the team was GONE!!! . . . .Taking my fiancé with them. I had to drive home in a blizzard.  About 30 mins. in the trip I realized that in the rush of getting gone I forgot my pillow.....this is no ordinary pillow ~ it's one of those really nice heavy duty, anti-migrane pillows, so I turned the snow covered Jeep around and went back for my pillow (no one left behind huh?) Well, after finally getting back on the road I was so excited that it was snowing!! However, when I returned home to Starkville, the snow had come the night before and had already melted.

I am not sure that this trip helped me not to miss the boy.  I think it just made it worse.  I do not want to go back to the reality of studying and school.  I want to go back to the dream in AL with snow and my fiancé and baseball.

The Christmas Shower: Turn Your Volume Up!

The beginning of the Invitations:

DSCF2472

Oh my goodness boys and girls……these invitations are going to be P.I.M.P!! Jonathan stayed with me for a complete afternoon in the midst of his packing for Italy and worked on my wedding invites! Not sure if you guys know but the main color of the wedding is green.  Everything else is peacock feather related and wildflowers.   I cannot share more than that with you because it has to be a surprise.  Here is the contraption that Jonathan set up to take a few snapshots of some gorgeous peacock feathers which he then proceded to put into Photoshop and drop the background, give them a shadow, make a black and white version that looks amazing and begin the invitation process. Which by the way is loooooong but when Jonathan does it he does it right and they are looking FABULOUS!!! I want to keep them all and use them for wallpaper or something. Ahhhh! I am tooooo excited!  After I mail these babies out sometime in a few months I will post one here and explain all the details that went into it.  I’ll just tell you there is something with coffee stains, feathers, and vintageness. They are by FAR the best invitations I have ever seen!!!!!

The Wedding Blog

Hi everyone!! This is our first blog as an engaged couple! :) I just wanted to show you some pics of what has been going on around here. Tyler and I went a couple of days ago to see about getting our passports. Rite Aid was having a sale on their passport photos so we went there first. The photos were only 7 bucks and there was a rebate with it to get two bucks back in the mail. Ha! Hardly worth it but we did it because it was the principle of the matter that counts!! So we got those made for 5 buckaroos!! YAY! The lady wouldn't let us smile for pictures because something about when you smile it does something to your face and for security purposes we had to keep a straight face. Weird. Then we had to go to the Post Office to fill out an application. Tyler didn't have his birth certificate so he could not get one, but since I am leaving tomorrow for Mississippi I had to go ahead and put in for mine.  It should take 3-4 weeks if they accept my birth certificate (it was a bit tattered).  After that we headed over to the Health Department to get Tyler's Birth Certificate. We are going to Punta Cana in the Caribbean!! We got a great deal on a "Sun to Sun" vacation with all our meals, tickets, room service included. We also have a Jacuzzi in our room and the back door slopes right into the swimming pool!  I can't wait!!! :)
