Dear Family & Friends,
We hope you are eagerly anticipating the wedding as much as we are. We thought it would be helpful to let you know about what to expect during your stay at The Samling.
Everyone has been allocated a suite with additional cots/beds being included for the children. All those with young children will be staying in the main house. We suggest you bring an intercom for use in the areas downstairs.
The Samling is child friendly. There is a small dining area in the main house which is equipped with a TV, DVD and sound system. Feel free to bring any films, books, music and/or toys for use in the main house or your own suites.
You may arrive at The Samling from 12pm. Check-in will be between 12pm – 2pm (staff will try to get rooms ready as soon as possible). Some guests are choosing to stay locally the night before. Let us know if you want any information on local hotels or bed & breakfast accommodation.
On arrival drive to the front of the main house, where you will be met by a member of staff who will take your luggage and park your car. You may sit in the main drawing room whilst waiting for your room. There is a toilet/bathroom located on the ground floor of the main house.
Full afternoon tea will be served in the main house at 2pm. There will be a flower pin available for each adult guest.
During your stay you may request drinks from a member of staff or via room service as often as you require. These are ‘on the house’ and include any of the house wines, beers, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Spirits are available but these will be charged to your room.
The wedding ceremony will take place at 3.30pm in the drawing room of the main house. There will be a champagne reception following this in the main house and on the terrace (weather permitting). We have hired a photographer. She will be arriving about an hour before the ceremony. She will be taking reportage type and posed shots. Let us know if you would like her to take your photograph whilst you are dressed up.
The three young children will have dinner in the small dining room at 5pm and will hopefully be in bed along with the baby before dinner is served.
We ask that you come through for pre-dinner drinks in the main house at 7.30pm and dinner will be served at 8pm.
After dinner, there will be time to relax, chat, have a dance or even make use of the hot tub.
The following morning, you may order a light continental breakfast and drinks. These will be served in your suite between 8am and 10am. We would like everyone to come to the main dining room for 10am for brunch which will include a full cooked breakfast, selection of cereals, pastries, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Check out time will be around 11am.
All we ask because ‘everything is included’ is that each adult leaves a tip (we suggest £15) which can be handed to Frank (Sarah’s dad) on the Saturday morning. We will make sure the money is distributed amongst the staff.
So all that is left for you to do is enjoy your stay, make the most of the accommodation and facilities and take in the beautiful surroundings. We hope you like the place as much as we do and we look forwards to seeing you there. In the meantime, let us know if you have any questions.

Directions
To get to The Samling by road: Leave the M6 at Junction 36 (South Lakes/Kendal). At the large roundabout, take the exit onto the 1591 and continue past Windermere towards Ambleside. Approximately two miles after Windermere, you’ll see the lake and The Low Wood Water Sports Centre on your left. You’ll also see a sign for The Low Wood Hotel on your right. About three hundred yards further on is a sharp bend, indicate right when you see the road sign showing this bend. The entrance to The Samling is a very steep driveway on your right: continue up it and bear right to park at the front of the house.
