Where to Stay

If you are coming from out of town, here are some suggestions of places to stay:
There are tons of places to stay in Vancouver and these are not necessarily the best, we feel the ones listed below are in pretty good locations... they are listed in no particular order.

Let us know if you have any questions about location etc...
If staying right in Vancouver is too expensive, Richmond would be a good option too (about 20minutes to Vancouver) and may be a better option than East Vancouver.
Burnaby is close enough too (about 30minutes to Vancouver).
Ladner & New Westminster ok too (about 30-45minutes to Vancouver).
North or West Vancouver close too (about 20minutes to downtown Vancouver, 30-45minutes to ceremony/reception sites) but you have to go over the Lions Gate bridge which can sometimes be a pain due to traffic.

Just a note: Downtown is not necessarily the best place to stay in Vancouver as most of Vancouver's attractions aren't downtown. However there are nice places Downtown. If you want to stay Downtown, stay anywhere west of Granville Street  & South of Georgia street with exceptions being Yaletown and the area around the Vancouver public library.
Recommended downtown areas: Yaletown, Granville Street, English Bay, West End, Coal Harbour, Stanely Park. Stay away from the East Hastings area.

Note: I believe most hotels are now completely non-smoking... so if you smoke, make sure to double check if you're allowed to smoke in rooms before booking

www.hostelworld.com can be a good website to look up cheap B&B's, hotels or hostels in Vancouver (from $20 per person per night)

Expedia www.expedia.ca is also a good website to look at for hotel comparisons and deals.
