If you are a crafty person or just want some ideas on what type of design you will like your wedding invitations to look, here is the link to a great book (link is at the bottom of this article) for you to browse through for the perfect way to announce to your family and friends about your special day and let them know that you will love to share it with them . The book is called Wedding Papercrafts and it show you some examples on how to create elegant wedding invitations, and decorations for your wedding day. You can purchase it through google or amazon, “with the link you can preview some pages”.
An invitation can cost you anything from few cents per card if you buy generic cards from your local department store up to $10.00 per card depending on how intricate the design and the amount you order from cards vendors. If you are a crafty person you can save a good amount of money by doing it yourself as well. Thanks to today technology you can fabricate your own wedding invitations if you have a good quality printer, nice looking fonts ( you can find and download free fonts by going to www.dafont.com), find great looking paper by visiting your local office supply stores such as Office Depot, or Office Max, and decorative paper which you can find at your local art supply store like Michaels, or Aaron Brothers. Some people like to attach a professional wallet size or a 4×6 picture of the couple to the invitations which give the invitation a touch of personality, uniqueness and elegance. An engagement session with a photographer will provide you with the resources to do the latter. Your wedding invitation will not be a collectable item for the rest of the world but it will be for you, since it represent one of the first step taken to announce the world about your love.
Your invitation should bear the colors and theme of the wedding. You should visualize your wedding invitation as an extension of your decoration. By doing this you will introduce your guest to the ambient and mood of the wedding day ahead of time. Some photographers are good graphic designers and they can help you with the design of the picture and some other details of the invitation specially if the photographer has connection to a bulk printing press.
Wedding invitations are as special and important as any other detail of your wedding, after all that is how you officially communicate to your family and friends that they are important to you and their presence in your wedding will be appreciated it.
If you are looking for a photographer to help you with your wedding invitations, feel free to contact Alexis Photography and Video Service. We provide with graphic design and bulk printing for your wedding invitation as well with photography and videographer service for your wedding.

Time flies by quickly specially on a busy day, like a wedding. You wait a long time for this beautiful and special moment in your life, and believe me when I said this, the day pass in a blink of an eye, at least that is what many brides tell me when I meet with them after the wedding. You are so busy getting ready, making sure every detail is in place, talking to your guest, dancing, time seems is not enough and it look that you are rushing through pretty much the entire celebration. When everything is said and done the only memory you will have are your pictures and video to remember how the day happened. Now, the day is very overwhelming as it is, but by helping your photographer to take great pictures will be beneficial to you in the long run when you are traveling back in memory lane to remember your wedding.
Obviously your photographer will have full cooperation from you and your love one since it is a service you hire for your personal benefit, but what about the other people from the wedding? Yes, your best friend, Dad, Mom, In laws, the best man, the maid of honor, it is always one of these people who are destined to ruin your pictures by not cooperating at all, or trying to play the clown role. Mostly falls on your shoulder the responsibility to know your people and know who will be the one disappearing from the site since they are more into the drinking, dancing, having fun thing than spend time taking pictures by knowing this you can have in mind who will tolerate more time for a photography session, who will likely leave right away for the bar, and who will be clowning around trying to mess up your pictures, since you are the one who know this people the best, it is up to you to cooperate with your photographer to get them to behave, and take the pictures as fast as possible so they can leave and do their thing.
Another way in were you can make your picture session going smooth is by knowing what you will like, how to pose for the camera, and have a clear idea on how the day will evolve. By knowing all this you will naturally letting the photographer to do what they do best “take pictures”. By letting the photographer know ahead of time where and how you will be standing during the ceremony will help the photographer to plan ahead the angles, available light or light required for the different exposition during your ceremony.
A very useful resource to use is this very interesting book from Steve Sint: “The Bride’s Guide to Wedding Photography” this book is pack with great pictures ideas, posing advice, as well a very detailed list of common pictures taken during a wedding day. If you will like your pictures to look like those pictures taken from celebrity wedding I recommend you to read this book before your wedding day. So you can help your photographer to take great pictures in less time. Let him or her know what you like and what is more important to you. The more cooperation your photographer have, the more picture he or she will take and with the digital technology most photographer are equipped with the capabilities to take at least 1,300 pictures of your wedding, that is a lot of pictures.
Other Useful book is from Kathleen Hawkins: The Bride’s Guide to Wedding Photography: How to Get the Wedding Photography of Your Dreams
