A ninja with a camera. Or, rather, a few cameras. Photojournalism and fine art imagery created by someone that prefers to fade into the background and let your joyful day occur naturally.

Noir fashion shoot with Makeup 2 Die 4 2012-04-30

Experimentation frees the soul. I love trying out new themes and concepts out on personal shoots, and so Tara Lynn Sen and I conspired to do a noir photo shoot, with Noel McKinnon of Makeup 2 Die 4 providing the fantastic makeup for the day. Many thanks to the models for their hard work!

Toronto, 2011 2012-04-26

This weekend I will be heading to Toronto for a friend’s wedding (as a guest, how odd!) and I was reminded of my trip there last year. I took my old school Nikon FA, a bunch of new and expired film, and shot like crazy. Many thanks to awesome friend and photographer Jessica for giving me a place to crash! Here’s a few images from the trip.

Logan Airport, early morning.

Logan Airport early morning light

In Toronto, waiting for the ferry to take us from the airport to the mainland.

I love the imperfection of expired film. Digital is, at times, too perfect.

The CN Tower.

CN Tower

Kids playing on the glass floor at the top of the tower. While Jess and I were inside, 1,815 feet above the city, everyone’s cell phones started going off.
There was an earthquake in Virginia which was felt on Toronto’s streets! We didn’t feel a thing.

A tribute to beloved politician Jack Layton, leader of the New Democratic Party, who recently passed away.

Jess. I love the texture of all that grain.

Window inside Jess’ studio.

Inside the Art Gallery of Ontario.

A sculpture, a hand. The devil is in the details.

Toronto’s growing! There’s construction everywhere.

Airport, waiting to board.

Back in Boston.

In Cambridge, waiting for the bus. Ceiling of Lechmere Station.

Anna and Ket’s Wedding at the Tirrell Room in Quincy 2012-04-04

When fellow photographer and all-around cool person Jules Ko needed a second photographer for Anna and Ket’s wedding I was happy to come along. Here’s a few images from that day!

Decorating the limo!

Upon arriving at Anna’s family’s house, Ket and his groomsmen had to win the favor of the bridesmaids before being allowed inside.
What does this mean? Well, first off- wear bibs and eat baby food. Oh snap.

Singing a little ditty.

Warning: Lord of the Rings joke- “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!”

Shenanigans.

Must. Get. Inside.

Ket sees Anna for the first time.

Paying their respects.

Being silly rocks.

The reception was at Hei La Moon in Chinatown.

I Am A Fearless Photographer! 2012-03-08

Wow, I can’t believe it. I am a proud member of Fearless Photographers, a site that lists some of the best photographers in the world. They hold periodic contests looking for some of the most uncompromising and creative images to come out of a wedding. There were 4500 (!!!) entries, 223 winners, and out of those top 5% guess what… I got one! This one’s from Amanda and Dave’s super-cool wedding.
