Get ready for 2009!!!! 2008-12-30

Can you believe it? 2008 is almost over and 2009 is fast upon us. This past year has been one that has been very challenging, yet rewarding for me as a business owner. I have not only grown as a photographer this past year, but I have grown as a person. With the economy the way it is and the recession that we are in, I have had to take a step back and re-examine what it is that I want for my company. Through many different promotional offers and customers that I have dealt with, I have realized that the need is great for a photography outreach. When I say outreach, I don't mean completely free pictures, but what I do mean is affordable photography for EVERYONE. If you have just been laid off from your job and you have kids in school you shouldn't have to pay a fortune for the pictures you get from the school and then only receive a couple pictures. Also, if your child is in sports again, you shouldn't have to pay a huge amount of money just to get the memories that your children want, and again not get the quality or quantity of pictures for your money. I pride myself in taking pictures that meet the needs of the client. For instance, if I have soccer teams that I am going to take their pictures the pictures are going to be outside, with a soccer goal and a soccer ball. They will have the opportunity to have different individual poses and then the group poses, no fake grass or cheesy pose. You want it to look real. Another thing is I don't ever put a time frame on my photo shoots. I don't feel as though you can rush a photo session. No matter how old or young or young at heart you are, you need your time to warm up and get to know me as well as allowing me to get to know your personality. This might mean that we start our session in the studio and then venture around town. I don't care; this is what makes each and every photo shoot different and special. I don't EVER charge a session fee or travel fees. Again, why should I be charging you something for you to have your memories? Everything is figured into the packages. We do require payment at the time of photo shoot though, this is in lieu of a session or travel fees. Other things that have happened this year include: upgraded equipment (have 3 Nikon D300's w/ many lenses including a 50x500), portable studio lighting, strobe flash set, gels, tons of backdrops, props, became a member of PPA. These are just some of the things that have been going on. Things to look forward to in the coming year: Continue to grow my customer base, look for great promotions and fundraisers for local charities, we are working on some awesome contests for the community children to help build self esteem and volunteerism, Columbia County Fair specials, Senior Reps for 2010.....we are actually going to start looking for Juniors here in the next month or so. Awesome rewards......... and so much more. Unlike most photographers at the beginning of EVERY YEAR they RAISE their prices. Well, I am different. I WILL NOT BE RAISING MY PRICES. This is the 3rd year in a row that I have not raised my prices. I have my prices at a price where I don't need to raise them. I will be looking over the packages and seeing how I can revamp them to better fit my customer’s needs. If you have any suggestions I would be happy to hear them. NOTHING I do to them will make them raise the price; I just like to change things up from time to time. Finally, I want to wish everyone a very happy new year. Tot Days Picture Extraveganza 2009-01-24
