Rustic Farm Wedding 2010-10-16

We love combining casual elegance with the rustic elements of the farm. Enjoy the inspiration from Samantha and Ryan’s wedding. Snixie Photography did a great job with the photos!

Upgrade Your Decor 2010-10-14

Upgrade Your Decor

We go a little crazy around here for ideas that are different and special to the bride and groom. There are lots of ways to take a simple look and make it fabulous. We have put together several ideas to make your tables DIY and budget friendly and ways to add touches that will give you a magazine wedding

Take a look at these ideas on how to stay within budget, but create a grande escape for your day.

Do you envision a celebrity style wedding that characterizes your personality and style? There are lots of ways to create a grande landscape for your dream day.

Look of Extravagance

  1. Add height to your centerpieces. If you are having your wedding in a large ballroom, adding height to you centerpieces can fill the room and give it a majestic quality.
  2. Embellish the place setting. Using charger plates, menu cards, napkin decor, and placecards can add a touch of class to your table. You can even put the guest favor on the plate to add color and uniqueness.
  3. Use linens that compliment your colors. For an extra touch, choose an embellished overlay linen to tie your color scheme together.
  4. Replace banquet chairs with Chivari chairs. Chiavari chairs have a bamboo like texture and appearance that are unique from any other chair in the event industry. You can even enhance the chairs with flower hangings, sashes, and much more!
  5. Add candles. Candles add a romantic touch of light at the table.

There are many ways to keep elegant qualities but not break the budget. Here are some ways to subtract from the cost, and still get beautiful decor.

Simple But Elegant

  1. Choose flowers that are in season for your centerpieces. They are less expensive, and can add color and beauty to any table.
  2. Cover traditional banquet chairs with chair covers and a sash. You can adorn the sashes with additional touches such as a single flower, pinecone, or butterfly piece for an additional element.
  3. Pop for one linen in your choice of color. It brings a splash of color that is different from the traditional white or black.
  4. Use mirrors and small votive candles. The mirrors will reflect the light and give the effect of more candles.

DIY Budget Friendly

For the DIY bride, here are ways to lesson the cost of your table decor and take away stress from the pocketbook and adds beautiful character. We can help you stay on budget and take away stress. This is one of many ideas we have!

  1. Flowers are often the most expensive thing on the table. If you want to use flowers, use ones that are in season or go to the farmers market to find the best options. You can also take the place of flowers by alternating table with fruit centerpieces.
  2. Make it personal. Personal touches are often much less expensive. Consider using photographs of the bride and groom used in a fun way to adorn the tables.
  3. Use what they have. Venues often carry white and black linens and banquet chairs that are free of charge. If you are on a tight budget, add splashes of color with napkins of your color. Napkins can be rolled, folded, and add character to a table with a low cost.

Revolution Mills Wedding – Annette and Adam 2010-09-29

This Atlanta couple chose the bride’s hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina to tie the knot. The Revolution Mill Studios proved to be the perfect place to entertain the 200 guests who traveled from all over to toast this special bride and groom. Annette and Adam have so many friends and such a large, devoted family!

It was truly a joy to assist in planning their weekend long celebration. Events included a Bridal Luncheon on Friday at noon, a Rehearsal Dinner with toasts and lots of laughter on Friday evening, a Saturday ceremony followed by an elegant, plated dinner accompanied by a jazz trio, and lively dancing heated up by the tunes spun by DJ Wally West. Sunday Brunch hosted by the parents of the bride topped off the weekend festivities before sending the newly wed couple off to Hawaii for their honeymoon.

Revolution Mills Wedding – Chris & Jessica 2010-09-14

My love for all things North Carolina came together in this wedding.  The pure beauty of the church, the touch of personality to reflect the couple in every detail, and the simplistic southern charm came together perfectly for this picturesque event.

A classic clash between North and South, Chris and Jessica tied together southern character with northern influences to bring their wedding to life.  Cocktail hour was revisited with the couple’s signature drink, the Mo-tea-to, a southern twist on the popular Mojito.  They combined style, crisp colors of navy and lime green with simple vintage style floral arrangements.  The couple walked through a sparkler exit and departed in a vintage car to retreat to their honeymoon.

Long Distance Bridal Recipe Shower 2010-09-03

Long Distance Bridal Recipe Shower

The Recipe Shower is a terrific idea for the bride who lives far away from her friends and loved ones. The hostess can either have a combination
Invitation/Recipe Card designed and printed by a professional printer or can Do It Herself (DIY). The DIY Invitation/Recipe Card is easy and fun to make and can be designed in a particular theme to suit the bride’s tastes!

Start preparing the invitations early! You’ll be thankful for the extra time needed for the mail service. In the invitation, each guest is asked to write her favorite recipe for the bride and mail it back to the hostess.  At the “shower” all of the recipes are compiled by the hostess into a
beautiful Recipe Book.  Be sure to include a “Recipe for a Happy Home” :

4 cups of LOVE
2 cups of LOYALTY
3 cups of FORGIVENESS
5 spoonfuls of HOPE
2 spoonfuls of TENDERNESS
4 quarts of FAITH
1 Barrel of LAUGHTER

Take love and loyalty, mix thoroughly with Faith. Blend it with Tenderness, Kindness and Understanding. Add Friendship and Hope.  Sprinkle abundantly with Laughter. Bake it with Sunshine. Serve daily with generous helpings.

Prep time: a Lifetime
Serves: 1 Happy Family
