With so many details to attend to, it’s comforting to know that our experienced staff and management are prepared to make your wedding as special, as unique and as distinctive as you are. Whether your reception is a more intimate gathering or a lavish affair, Big City Catering will create a tailor-made menu specifically designed to match the theme and flavor of your special day.
What type of catering do you do?
At Big City we cater all different types of events, from intimate
gatherings to extravagant events. We provide custom menus to fit
individual needs and will work with our clients to fit the style and
theme of any event. We are also happy and willing to provide menu
suggestions if clients are unsure where to start when it comes to the
food.
How do I start?
The first step is to contact us and set up an appointment. We are more
than happy to answer any questions you may have, help you clarify your
vision, and put your priorities in order. We'll talk about the style of
event you are picturing, the budget you'd like to work with, the
services that you will require, and schedule a tasting of some of the
decadent dishes Big City has to offer. Give us a call at (407) 438-3488
or by E-mail at Shannon@BigCityCatering.com
Can I see your menu?
Yes! Our website is the best place to view our extensive menu options
available. We are passionate about offering our clients a unique
culinary experience, and can customize a menu for your event
exclusively.
How much will it cost?
Each event is entirely unique, therefore it would be simply impossible
to put a single price tag on what it would cost for Big City to cater
your special event. Resist the urge to compare the cost of a catered
event to the cost of making food yourself or going to a restaurant.
While this approach is certainly understandable, the "BIG" difference
between going to a restaurant and using a caterer is that we bring the
restaurant to you! Transportation, service equipment and utensils,
logistical planning, and the timely service of large quantities of food
bear necessary expenses that will reflect in the overall price of your
event. Our goal is to exceed our client's expectations, always being
mindful of their budget.
How can I save money?
We offer everything from box lunches to full-service theme parties. At
Big City there's always catering for your budget! You control nearly
every cost variable including the length of the event, the quality of
the linens, the types of beverages at the bar and of course, the menu.
Also ask us for vendor referrals. We have worked with a lot of
different wedding industry professionals and can usually help you find
someone who provides amazing service within your budget.
Does Big City do tasting's?
Definitely! Once we've met to discuss your vision, we can schedule a sample tasting of your customized menu.
How much staff will I need for my event?
Based on what we learn about your needs relative to service and budget,
our detailed catering proposal will show you exactly how many
supervisors, chefs, bartenders and wait staff you'll need. Our staff
has more than 100 years of hospitality experience and is capable of
providing catering services to groups from 2 to 20,000 guests.
Can Big City provide bar service?
We have a full liquor license and would be happy to provide any and all
types of beverage services for your event. Whether it's just beer and
wine, a full liquor bar, or one of our customized beverage stations.
All I want is catered food, not a fully staffed event. Will you do that?
Definitely! Whether you need our services for your next corporate event
or special gathering making your day unique is what we do! Just let us
know that you want a “set up only”. This means we will come to the
location of the event and set up the full buffet including utensils for
your convenience.
I need more than just catering. What else can Big City help me with?
Our
Professionals will help make your special day a memorable one. They are
knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. Let our detail-oriented team
assist you with every facet of your wedding. Big City Catering is able
to provide professional wedding coordination and planning assistance
including, but not limited to the following:
Site/Facility Selection
Live Entertainment Elements Specialty
Linens and Décor
Floral and Foliage Enhancements
Photography and Video Services
Transportation and Valet Services
We offer a wide variety of vegetarian selections at Big City. You may browse our menus to customize your event, or if you have specific dishes you would like prepared, we would be glad to replicate them for you. If you know that you will have a very limited number of vegetarian guests and do not want to provide that option to everyone, we will have a vegetarian plate available in the kitchen by request. This requires some advance knowledge (or your approximation) of the number of vegetarians you expect.
Who will help me plan the event and oversee my party on the day of the event?
Our highly experienced event coordinators will work directly with you from menu concept to completion. They are here for you whether your event calls for an intimate cocktail party or an elaborate gala. Our culinary and event planning services teams will create a personalized menu that matches the overall goal and theme of your event. Working with our service partners and staff we are able to assist in creating the most memorable events.
Tips to Save Money on Your Wedding
1.Keep your head count under control. Hundreds of guests will eat
hundreds of dollars worth of food. And extra guests means more linens,
centerpieces, favors and so much more. It's not just the food cost for
extra guests.
2. Consider getting married at a time that is not considered "peak."
All vendors will often be cheaper during non-peak times. In most cases,
Saturday is the most expensive day to get married, so try choosing
another day like Friday or Sunday. Peak months include the spring and
fall months. Remember that Florida is backwards in terms of wedding
season from the rest of the country. Also, stay away from Valentine's
Day, holiday weekends and any popular choice for a wedding day.
3.Consider getting married during the day or during in between food
times. Caterers usually charge less for daytime lunch weddings, and
guests are unlikely to expect or to eat as much food.
4.If you serve appetizers at a cocktail hour, keep them simple. Do you
really need to serve jumbo shrimp or miniature beef Wellingtons in
addition to a full meal? Something light and delicious so that your
guests aren't starving but still hungry for dinner.
5.Consider alternatives to the traditional sit-down meal. Buffets,
brunches, appetizer receptions and dessert receptions are almost always
cheaper alternatives.
6.Consider alternatives to an open bar, as alcohol can be a huge
expense. In addition to the cash bar option, you might consider serving
mostly non-alcoholic drinks with a champagne toast or a few limited
signature cocktails.
7. Ask your vendors for referrals. Often times we know amazing people
who will work within your budgets. And the more you can save in one
area, the more you can put into something else.
