I can’t believe a year has gone by already since Nathan’s first birthday! Here are some pics from his 2nd birthday. Benny and Alissa went with the airplane theme since Nathan loves them so much. They did a great job! Look at the pic with all the other moms that attended!

Lately the weather in Seattle makes me think of warmer places to be! Nothing beats the beautiful weather of Maui. I was originally from the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, but Cindy and I visited Maui for the first time over a year ago. We went there for vacation and also for a friend’s wedding. We’ve been so busy we finally found some time to post photos from our trip.
It’s a great place to relax, it’s less crowded than Oahu and seemed even more laid back. Oahu is pretty laid back too, so that’s saying a lot =). I love the food in Hawaii, it seems like everything is super-sized there! Many times Cindy and I could just order one dish and share it between the both of us. This is unusual because we both have pretty healthy appetites!
We will be shooting a wedding in Oahu this July so we can’t wait! Especially since we need to catch up on the vitamin D!
Any hint of wind and rain might freak out a bride who’s having an outdoor wedding, but what about a snowstorm with road closures, fallen trees, power outages and shut down of the airport?? Well that’s exactly what happened right before Kirsten and Patrick’s wedding.
Their wedding was in late January when much of Western Washington was hit by a record-breaking snowstorm. The Seattle area was covered with over a foot of snow in some area and stranded some homes and businesses for a week without power. Although Kirsten and Patrick didn’t plan for an outdoor wedding, which we wouldn’t recommend for anyone having a January wedding in Seattle, but we wouldn’t blame them if they felt a bit (or a lot) of a panic, especially since a lot of their families were heading in from out of town. With delays and cancellations of flights, their families couldn’t arrive as planned. But it didn’t stop them; they did whatever they could to get to the wedding. Even for us we weren’t sure the wedding was still happening, we had to contact Kirsten the day before to make sure everything was good to go. Fortunately for them, the snow cleared up just in time and everyone made it, except for one little change with the officiant. Talk about lucky! In fact it was a pretty sunny day, chilly… but yet, a clear and beautiful day. Too bad for us the snow melted all away! Not even a glimpse of it is in our photos, making it probably hard to believe that a snowstorm had hit.
