"I approach your wedding day as if I am on assignment photographing a photo essay of your celebration. My wedding photography isn't photojournalism "style" wedding photography. It "IS" photojournalism documentation of your wedding day."

Photojournalism wedding photography is photographing REAL moments as they are happening, in real time, without any prompting, coaxing or directing from the photographer. In fact I'm doing my job best when I'm not even noticed.

It's your wedding, have fun and enjoy the day! BE YOURSELF! Don't take directions from your photographer all day. This is the only way I can capture the real you!

You won't find the standard "cliche" wedding shots in my photography. I don't try and make my photography look like all other photographers out there. I pride myself in doing it differently!

True photojournalism is much more than a camera merely recording what a person looks like or what they did. Photojournalism is photographing what a person is feeling, and who they are inside, so that the viewer can share those emotions and understand what they felt. The term photojournalism is misused quite a bit in wedding photography these days. Just because the subject in the photo isn't looking at the camera doesn't make it photojournalism. Photojournalism is much more than that.

Artist in Residence at Everglades National Park 2009-11-29

I found out a few weeks ago that I was chosen to be the Artist in Residence at Everglades National Park for the Month of January. I'll be spending the entire month of January photographing the Everglades! The plan is to spend two of those weeks canoeing the wilderness waterway, a 100 mile stretch of the western Everglades. I spent a lot of time in the Everglades when I was a staff photographer at the Naples Daily News in Florida and it's going to be great to get back!
