Here is a sneak peek of Odessa and Jamell’s wedding photography last weekend. They were married and held their wedding reception at the The Chateau Briand in Carle Place, NY. They had an amazing twilight wedding ceremony — very beautiful!

Here are some of my favorite photos from Marielle and Rod’s wedding. They were married at Saint Monica’s Church on the upper east side of Manhattan, a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony that also included a few Filipino wedding traditions.
Included in the wedding ceremony processional, there are special ceremonial sponsors, who responsibilities, are to fulfill some of the Filipino wedding traditions. Such as, after the exchange of wedding rings by the couple, the groom is given by the sponsors, the wedding arrhae, which he then gives to his bride. The arrhae is a symbol of his “monetary gift” to the bride because it is composed of 13 pieces of gold, or silver, coins, a “pledge” that the groom is devoted to the welfare and well-being of his wife and future offspring. Both rings and arrhae are blessed by the priest during the wedding . A pair of secondary sponsors known as the veil sponsors will pin the veil on the couple. Two forms of this tradition exist, with either one long, white-coloured veil draped over the shoulder of the groom and above the bride’s head, or pinning two separate veils, one on the groom’s shoulder and the other on the bride. The veiling ritual signifies the clothing of two individuals who have become one due to the ceremony of marriage. After the veiling ritual, a third pair of sponsors, known as the cord sponsors, will then drape a cord over the shoulders of the groom and the bride. This decorative cord is called the yugal and is customarily shaped or looped to form the figure 8, to symbolise “everlasting fidelity.”
Their wedding reception was held at Bridgewaters down by the seaport. It was a perfect springtime night in New York City, with a glorious view of the Brooklyn Bridge from venue’s windows. Marielle and Rod performed their first dance, a Murga Tango, which concluded to much fanfare from their family and friends and thus was the start of a festive night.

Here are some photographs from a recent engagement session with Ariel and Tim. It’s been awhile since I’ve walked around the Williamsburg Brooklyn neighborhood, and from what I saw, I definitely want to head back soon. There is a certain energy and vibe that’s very attractive about the Williamsburg area — plus, I just read in the NY Times yesterday that even Pat Kiernan is moving the whole family there! I can totally hear it now — “Hey, New York 1 guy!”
I’m looking forward to being Ariel + Tim’s wedding photographer this September!
