Dawn Villella is an award-winning photojournalist who has been published in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time Magazine and People Magazine. She has worked both as a photographer and photo editor for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and currently shoots for the Associated Press. Some of her clients also include the University of Minnesota, Hamline University, Mall of America, Best Buy, Northwest Airlines and Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Dawn was also chosen as a photographer for the America 24/7 project to document life in America in May 2003. She lives in south Minneapolis with her husband, two children and their springer spaniel.

I live for stories and love telling them with pictures. I pride myself on not just being a photographer, but a photojournalist. Whether I'm photographing a wedding, a portrait of child or CEO, covering a hockey game or breaking news, I'm always keeping my eye out for a compelling picture.
