I realized I don’t share enough personal photos on this blog, so I thought you all might get a kick out of this portrait session. Why? Because it’s my sister. :)
She and her boyfriend came in with their two “kids”: Maggie, the yellow lab, and Toby, the one who looks like a Rottweiler.
I was a little nervous about this session because my sister hates to have her photo taken almost as much as I do! And I wasn’t sure how she’d mange with me being the photographer. :D But she was a total champ and we had so much fun!
I think Toby might disagree with me, though. That poor puppy thinks I’m trying to steal his soul every time I take his picture, and you should see the looks he gives me! It’s hilarious.
Anyway, if you know my sister you know she is anything but traditional. So we had a crazy fun session, and I can’t wait to photograph them again. :) Without further adieu, the photos…
My sister, Tricia. Isn’t she a cutie patootie?

The “family” portrait. And yes, that’s Toby sneaking off in the background. LOL

My sister with her nieces and newphew.

This might be my favorite family portrait ever. :D

Aren’t they just so freaking cute?!?! This session was a lot of fun, and I really do hope they’ll come back in the studio more. Hey, Trish…call me!! :D

As soon as I met J and P I knew this maternity session would be a lot of fun. They were both laughing and smiling and just so friendly! We had lots of giggles and laughs, and J makes an absolutely stunning mom-to-be. :)
She loved the blue wrap I use for maternity sessions, and I can understand why. She looks gorgeous in it!

I’ve been trying to mix up my maternity sessions a bit by throwing in different poses and props, and I am loving these shots with the fabric in motion. I was torn between the color and black & white version of this photo, but I think I prefer the black & white.

J and P were also very affectionate which made for some seriously sweet photos…like this one…aren’t they cute?? :)

And these silhouette photos are always some of my favorites. So simple and elegant.

I believe Baby Girl made her appearance shortly after this session, so congratulations you two!! I can’t wait to see her. :)

I first met this little guy when he was only five days old. Needless to say, he’s changed A LOT in nine months! :D He is also absolutely adorable. I just wanted to pinch his cheeks during the entire session. Can you blame me?

You know you want to pinch those cheeks, too! :D This little guy was so serious in the beginning…I couldn’t get him to smile at all. He would just look at me like “Lady, are you crazy?” or I would get the stunned look:

I think the flash startled him!! LOL After a while he started to warm up to me. He has such an adorable giggle. :)

And a few more of my favorites:

It was so great to see you all again! K is turning into quite the handsome little guy, and I can’t wait to see you all again. :)

When you walk into the studio, there’s a larger-than-life black & white triptych of a newborn baby in his father’s hands hanging on that first wall. Every time I see that photo (which is still truly one of my favorite newborn shots) I am blown away by how lucky I am to be doing what I do. :) And every time that little boy comes into the studio I cannot get over how much he’s grown! As you will see below. ;)
I know I’ve mentioned many times how much I enjoy seeing my clients’ families grow. It’s definitely one of the benefits of being a maternity and newborn photographer! So when the T family came back in this summer I was beyond thrilled to not only get to see them again but to also meet their new baby girl. These kiddos (and actually the entire family!) are just adorable and picture perfect. See for yourself!

Just look at those big blue eyes! And I love W’s curly blond hair. :)

Yes, she is just this happy. Look at that grin!

Father & Son

Naked baby in a basket…gotta do it. LOL

Aren’t they a beautiful family? And they are the sweetest people on earth. :) I am truly blessed to have such wonderful clients and friends. :)

You know the minute I decided to stock up on girly hats and tutus for my newborn sessions that all my clients would end up having baby boys. :D It’s ok, though…baby boys are just so incredibly sweet as you’ll see from this session.
Baby C is actually the “second born” in this family. You might remember their maternity session with their fur baby. Well, Newton seems to be taking his role as big brother in stride. And Baby C seems to adore his furry big brother. :)

This little guy was so very sweet even when he got a little hungry. And I’m not sure what it is exactly about baby toes that makes you want to photograph them, but here’s the obligatory piggy toes shot. ;)

And a few more of my favorites…

Congratulations, guys! He’s beautiful. :)
