Esther & Kenny | Engagement Session 2010-04-29

Esther and Kenny’s e-session was a great start to our Easter long weekend, the weather was so amazing that it almost felt like summer!
We were undecided on a location at first, Kenny had requested a “final fantasy” like setting (and I thought he was serious!), but in the end it made perfect sense to go to Mainstreet Unionville where he proposed last March.
It was a lot of fun photographing these two because they were full of ideas and totally comfortable being themselves in front of the camera.  We came across this fiery red vintage Cadillac and just couldn’t resist taking a few shots with it.
For those of you who are looking for a new home, Kenny is a great real estate agent [myepichome.com].  Congratulations and can’t wait until your Shangri-La wedding this September!

Hwayoung & Keon | Engagement Session 2010-04-29

We had such a great time photographing Hwayoung and Keon’s e-session at High Park! Within minutes of meeting each other, one of the first shots we asked them to do was “Can you lay on the ground with all the blossoms?” and they were totally up for it.We were so lucky that the Cherry Blossoms were still in bloom, what a wonderful setting it made!  The shot of the falling blossom petals is my personal favourite!Hwayoung also climbed a tree in stilettos and took off her shoes for a run on the beach.  Keon, serving the Canadian Forces, had just returned from camp but still managed to lift, spin, and carry his bride-to-be.They are such an energetic and courteous couple, we are really looking forward to their wedding in August at the beautiful Le Jardin Banquet Hall.

Hannah & Albert | Engagement Session 2010-05-12

'Urban' engagement sessions have become increasingly popular and it is exactly what Hannah and Albert wanted for their e-session!  Unlike photos taken at a park or garden, we tend to play up the textures and colours found in urban settings, and get creative with its odd yet unique shapes and curves.Both Hannah and Albert brought a second outfit which is always a bonus and adds a greater hint of their personal style to the photos.  Thanks Hannah for braving the windy weather, and what a relief it was to see the sun come out on Sunday after all that rain on Saturday!It was so refreshing spending the afternoon with this couple and I even made it home in time to prepare mom a scrumptious Mother's Day meal! Hope you two enjoyed strolling along the habour and beaches as much as we did, looking forward to your wedding this October at Riviera Parque!

ellumin photography has returned from vacation! 2010-06-01

After spending two weeks in Hong Kong amongst the dense population, buzzing city streets and countless restaurants and shops, stepping foot on Toronto soil again made me realize the huge contrast between these two cities.  I find myself feeling homesick towards one when I'm in the other and vice versa, although it’s only been a day since we've been back, I'm already anticipating our next visit in 2011.
Very rarely will you see us uploading non-SLR photos onto this blog, but here are a few personal quick snapshots we took on the run that I wanted to share with you, Enjoy!

Gretchen & Kenneth | Wedding at Le Jardin Banquet Hall
