So...you're pregnant! Not only is your body changing, but so is your hair. Believe me, I know the feeling. I am twenty weeks along with my first pregnancy and I am realizing how much it actually affects things you would never even think about!
I have been looking into things via the internet and also chatting with friends who have children. Pregnancy will obviously affect everyone a bit differently - no two bodies are the same - but one thing I have heard frequently is the benefit it has on your hair.
During pregnancy, the expecting mom may notice that her hair feels a bit thicker. Typically, people lose anywhere from 50-100 hairs a day naturally. However, while pregnant more of your hair goes into what is called a 'resting stage' and the loss is a lot slower. You may also notice that eyebrows, eyelashes and yes, body hair becomes a bit thicker as well. Sorry about the last part ladies! Most of the time however, your hair will return to it's normal state a few months after the baby comes along.
I have talked to a few moms to be who have had the actual texture of their hair change. Some from curly to straight and visa versa. This too should change back after time. So, moms-to-be, you can add all this to your 'what to expect while expecting' list as well. Though these changes may be a little easier to deal with than stretch marks and swollen feet. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy every minute of it!

Over the past few weeks there have been a number of rumors circulating of a potential move by one of Seattle's most iconic businesses, Elliot Bay Books, from Pioneer Square to Capitol Hill. This is a very exciting prospect and could do some great things for the neighborhood. Currently the owner of Elliot Bay seems to have not made a public decision yet, but their lease is up in 2 months so we should probably be hearing a solid decision soon. Whatever Elliot Bay decides, they would be a welcome addition to Capitol Hill and we can't wait to hear what they decide! More info in the

The fauxhawk hasn't lost it's charm yet guys. This haircut is still going strong with new variations to keep it fresh. The longer version is great for guys with thick hair and a bit of wave to it. Add a few warm highlights to it to show off the texture and keep it fit for a winter look.
Fringe for guys is back! All kinds of different lengths and textures are being seen on the runways. Long or short, strong or textured. It can be clean cut or messy and fun.
My personal favorite, the side part, is make a comeback as well. This look is easy and can be worn so many different ways. Sleek with gel, a little roughed up with a styling clay of some sort, I recommend Kevin Murphy Gritty Business, and even short and with a less defined part which can be styled with a putty like Alterna's Sculpting Putty.

Zero 7, the downbeat electronic indie band, is coming to Seattle to put on another show. While they have been long acclaimed they have struggled to live up to their past glory they received on their first album Simple Things. All the same they have made some great tracks and one of their best is the song Destiny (video below), hopefully their set will include some of these classics.
