PRESENT - I am an artist, photojournalist, and aspiring architect living in the beautiful and progressive city of Eugene Oregon just blocks from the University of Oregon campus. I am an addict of higher education and am completing my Masters in Architecture while well into my 30's. I have the proverbial beautiful and fantastic wife and son who I applaud for their patience and understanding as I finish my academic career.

PAST - Like a huge number of Northwesterners, I was born "somewher else". My family and I moved to the Pacific Northwest when I was just a kid... a move that I am grateful for as I have been able to take advantage of all the cultural benefits of the scenic Wilamette Valley. I lived in eugene through high school when I moved to Ashland Oregon where I spent many fun filled and hardworking years living, learning, and playing in amid the forests and hills of the Siskiyous.

FUTURE & CAREER - My successes in photojournalism and wedding photography have, quite frankly, taken me by total surprise. It has been a wild ride and things are moving quickly for me professionally, personally, and academically. I know that wherever I go and whatever I do the art of visual storytelling and capturing light will remain paramount. I am looking forward becoming a licensed Architect while working in residential design, urban planning, and architectural photography. If all goes well my wife and I also plan to expand the family before I get too old and grey.

EDUCATION - Before coming back to school to spend three greuling years in the Masters of Architecture Program I received degrees in Sociology and Fine Art Photography at Southern Oregon University and the University of Oregon respectively. Obviously, higher education has been a huge part of my life and I hope to continue "over-educating" myself for years to come.

THE PHOTOJOURNALISTIC STYLE - I first entered the professional field as a photojournalist freelancing for the local student newspaper. After my first few shoots, a Eugene area peace rally and a Oregon Duck basketball game, I had a bit of an epiphany about the power of photojournalism. With the snap of a camera I was capturing and preserving life changing moments as they happened. It was such a pure and powerful experience. Although my studies have prevented me from continuing the path of a news photographer, I continue to shoot in the photojournalistic style, freelancing when I can, as I feel that is the best way to capture life and to tell a story... with honesty.

BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY - Like my photographic style, I also strive to be completely up front and honest in my business practices. What you see is what you get and I guarantee that there are no tricks or loop-holes here. Many of my associates feel that I am crazy to list other photographers on my "Resources" page. They may be right but it is most important to me that you get exactly what you need even if I am not the one to provide it. That being said, I certainly hope that I am! My prices and practices are firm but I also strive to be as open and flexible as possible. Every wedding is unique and I encourage you to contact me with any special circumstances or needs.
