Karen & Harley | celebration of marriage & family 2012-05-21

Karen is a very special lady to me! She’s the mother of one of my past brides, Cherie, whose wedding I photographed several years ago. I was so happy when they contacted me for Karen’s upcoming nuptials! I had no idea quite how beautiful of a day they were planning until I got to the house. Karen was floating around in a white bathrobe that said “Bride” and Harley was in the kitchen working on dinner (even though he was supposed to be getting dressed)!

The sun started setting during their poolside ceremony as their closest friends and family watched. It was truly a beautiful wedding. They’re on a one month honeymoon to Italy right now and wanted to share some pictures with family while they were there! Thanks so much for letting me share in your special day.

Cake Artist: Angie’s Wedding Cakes
Music: Goliath Flores

This is what greeted guests in the front and directed them around to the back. Love all these details!

Gorgeous florals!

First Look!

I think it’s pretty special that Karen’s dad walked her down the aisle:

Karen’s two gorgeous girls, Danielle and Cherie. I’m not sure what they were laughing at, but I love this shot:

Married!

Some truly unique and beautiful details. They totally transformed the backyard!

We tried to get a shot with all 5 grandboys, but the twins were sleeping. We had our hands full with just these three though!

Harley showing Connor the lanterns on the ceiling:

Karen told me she loved candlelight and really wanted to do their ceremony after it got dark! But when the sun finally went down those 300 candles were blazing!

They didn’t have a first dance planned, but I think their impromptu one was even better:

Had the document the mass amounts of candles. My favorite:

Alysha & Mike | celebrating 6 years 2012-05-03

I was so excited when Alysha contacted me – she had an anniversary coming up and wanted to document her (continued) love for her sweet husband, Mike. Your wedding shouldn’t be the only time you have your portrait made people! :) They brought along their fun little pups, Jack and Holly, and we had a blast going from town, to marsh, to beach.

Happy anniversary you guys!

Rebeccah & Matt | 4.14.12 Apalachicola Wedding 2012-04-26

Rebeccah and I crossed paths several years ago when I hosted a pet portrait fundraiser for the Humane Society! She brought her pug Lulu for her closeup, and thankfully kept my name in the back of her head. She contacted me when she got engaged and I was thrilled to get to work with her and Matt! They are truly wonderful people and actually have a lot in common with Ryan and me – I think we could become good buddies in the future. :)

Rebeccah is a managing editor at the Tallahassee Democrat and they ran a sweet story about them on Sunday with a picture I took from their wedding. Go check it out HERE!

I loved Rebeccah’s bouquet, and also loved the chair with perfect window light! She had a charm with her dad’s picture on her bouquet to remember him by – he passed away from Alzheimer’s disease in 2005:

Gooorgeous bride!

Love this shot of Matt that Ryan took, he cleans up well!

Their flower girl was super cute and took her time tossing her flower petals. She wanted each petal to land perfectly!

Rebeccah’s older brother walked her down the aisle:

Their ceremony ended at the perfect time for some beautifully lit portraits:

They had such great, personal details! I love the moss initials that greeted everyone to the reception area, the centerpieces were made by Matt’s mom, and one of the favors was a home brewed beer that Matt created with custom coozies:

The very witty maid of honor giving her toast:

Thanks for a great night you guys! See you soon!

Tricia & Joe | 4.7.12 SouthWood House Wedding 2012-04-20

The best way to describe this entire wedding was “sweet”! Tricia and Joe individually are sweet, together even sweeter, and turns out their friends and family are also super sweet! It was a beautiful day for a wedding at the SouthWood House – weather was perfect, everyone dressed to perfection – especially Tricia in her gorgeous (and huge!) dress! I think the pictures speak for themselves on the sweetness and beauty of the whole thing. She also had a lot of great TAWP vendors to help her pull it off!

Ceremony and Reception: The SouthWood House (TAWP member)
Florist: Flowers by Vince (TAWP member)
Cake and Catering: Katie’s Cakes & Catering (TAWP member)
Event Design and Coordination: Danette Saylor of Golden Gatherings Weddings & Special Events (TAWP member)
DJ: Perry Dollinger of North Florida Express DJs (TAWP member)
Tent and other rentals: Party Party Party (TAWP member)
Hair Stylist: Rebecca from Chelsea’s Salon
Makeup Artist: Danielle Ardister

Tricia’s mom was the sweetest and I love this little moment between the two of them:

I love these of sweet little Carristen!

I love this combo of Tricia walking down the aisle with her dad, and Joe’s reaction:

I love this one of Ryan’s!

Lots of pretty details pulled together by Danette Saylor of Golden Gatherings:

The boys were having fun at the reception:

I love a SouthWood wedding!

Have to give a little shoutout to my friend Perry of North Florida Express DJs. He always knows how to get a party started, even if it means a little singing on the dance floor!

Beautiful cake from Katie’s:

And then smashed in everyone’s face:

I’m so glad Tricia and Joe were ok for us to steal them from the reception for a minute. Literally, 5 minutes and we got to enjoy this beautiful sunset light. Worth it? Yes, I think so!

Thanks for a great day you two, and best wishes!

Karen & Harley-Cherie & Family | a multitasking session 2012-04-04

This session accomplished a few different things! I photographed Cherie and JJ’s wedding over 3 years and they have created a beautiful family since then. 3 boys – Connor who is almost 2, and Tyler & Parker, 4 month old twins. Now, Cherie’s sweet mom Karen is getting remarried and they called me to photograph her wedding! I always love working with the same people on multiple occasions and was thrilled that they called me.

When I mentioned an engagement session they didn’t really think they wanted to do a full-blown session. So I bribed them into making it a family session for Cherie, and then Karen and Harley could wrangle the babies and then jump in for a few shots of their own. The clouds were forming and getting gray, Conner was more interested in the nearby playground, and we didn’t think we were having a super successful shoot. But I think the pictures prove otherwise. :) See you guys again in May!

What a beautiful family, huh?

Karen and Harley were so cute together:

Wait a second for this to load….it’s a fun animated file:
