Kim and Nico’s Winter Wedding | New York Wedding Photographer 2012-01-12

He can’t recall a time when he had stayed in one place longer than a year until he met Kim.  Kim, a jewelry designer whose warmth, beauty and creativity captivates many, fell in love with this international man- a native to France who has spent his life on the move in such countries as Niger, Côte d’Ivoire and finally St. Martin, where he met Kim.  Shortly after that they started a life together in New York City and decided to tie the knot with a small city hall ceremony, after which they rented a limo with family and friends and traveled all over the city in style jumping out here and there to capture shots of these two before sunset.   Though they wanted a simple day, it was full of meaningful touches.  Kim designed all their jewelry including both rings and her headband, and with her vintage-style dress and shoes the look came together perfectly.  The delight they find in each other just beams through in every image.

Frost Photography’s Flush Mount Album Collection 2012-01-15

When the fex-ex man arrived my husband will testify,  I squealed and ran to the door.  I knew it was my new flush mount, leather-bound sample album by Madera Books.  I couldn’t wait to see it, shoot it and get it up on the blog and share it with you all.

So excited to be offering a product of this quality and beauty to my clients this year.  Each album comes in a sturdy keepsake box for safe storage of this beautiful album.  The heavy leather book has each photo mounted onto high quality kodak photo paper and mounted onto thick pages that lay flat with the tiniest gutter you’ve ever seen to ensure that your book will not get creases over time from folding pages, but will remain in its beautiful original state forever!  It’s seen here in the Ocean Blue Premium leather but there are endless cover choices!  I love it so much I’m going to design one for myself for my own wedding (which was a year and a half ago.  I never got around to making myself an album…so sad…another reason you should order an album with your photographer!)   If you want to set up an appointment to see Frost Photography’s sample albums in person,  use the contact form and let me know!  I’d be happy to grab coffee and chat with you and bring my album.  Flush mount albums currently range from $700 to $1800. *

A Year in Review: Frost Photography in 2011 2011-12-30

Coming into this new year I have been reflecting on how grateful I am for the leaps and bounds Frost Photography has taken in 2011 thanks to all of you!  Thank you so much to all my clients for sharing your lives with me this year, and to my 2012 clients– I’m so looking forward to your upcoming weddings and events!   Really can’t contain how excited I am about some of your beautiful faces that I get to shoot this year.  Okay that sounded wrong when I re-read it…but you know what I mean!

These are some of my favorites from the year:

Brooklyn Bridge and the West Village | NYC Engagement Photography 2011-12-15

I had the great privilege of being asked to do an engagement shoot for this adorable duo from Kansas who broke out of their small town a few years back, and took the brave leap of moving to the big city together.  Now they are super excited to be tying the knot in October of 2012 back in their home town, but meanwhile they wanted engagement photos that would capture their love for this great city.  So early one Saturday morning we met in DUMBO (which stands for Down Under the Brooklyn Bridge)  for some skyline shots and shots in an abandoned brick building…score!  Then we moved to their corner of the city- the West Village to finish up.

Katie’s the kind of girl who everyone wants for a bff.  She will greet a new acquaintance with a big hug- much to my elation as the girl that hugs her clients hello…guilty.   Jaime is the kind of guy who says a lot without saying a lot.    Toward the end of my shoot, I had misplaced the cover to my camera bag which I also often use as a little seat for my clients if I’m having them sit on the ground for a pose.  I figured we’d finish up and then I’d go look for it, but he insisted on finding it, and before I could object he was running down the street in the other direction to the last place we’d been.    You they both really care about people, towards the end Katie was giving me all the dirt on the best West Village Restaurants and  Jamie, a tax lawyer, was offering advice on protecting my business legally (free advice…I’ll take it!)  These two will certainly be an unstoppable duo making friends wherever they go- you can’t help but love them!

Thanks to my second-shooter and fellow cat-lover Michelle Clemente-Lange who was a great help on this shoot.

Will and Tyler | NYC Business and Actor Headshots 2011-12-11

Hey All!   I hope you are having a great holiday season!   I just realized that I never blogged some head shots I did, so I thought I would share!  Will (pictured first) needed professional head shots for his company and grad school apps (we did a few creative ones as well for the fun of it).   Tyler (pictured second) needed musical theater head shots.    For headshots its important to find a simple background that draws attention mostly to the person’s face.  Will’s whole shoot took place in and around my apartment in Astoria which turned out really well with a perfect soft dusk light.  Tyler’s we did entirely at a plaza near battery park.
