One of my favorite photos...ever. 2012-05-24

I can't say that this is my favorite photo because I'm so awesome and perfect with my light, because I am so great at posing clients, or because of all the cool props I used. I CAN say that this is maybe my favorite photo ever because of the moment that unfolded before my eyes; I was just fortunate enough to notice and be there to capture it. This image was taken at one of my recent weddings of the groom (the one whose face is in the light). His name is Joe, and he married his sweetheart Michelle at the Trolley Barn, Atlanta. They were both just so excited and sweet about each other. What was happening: The groomsmen had gathered at the big window overlooking the ceremony site watching guests arrive. Joe had been hanging back a moment in the shadow. Just before the wedding coordinator ushered them down the aisle, I turned my head to see Joe's face cast in the warm window glow...a quiet moment just before saying "I do".  I love the emotion in this. Erika + Dusten: A Wolf Mountain Wedding 2012-03-27

This couple is our modern day princess and prince charming. They chose Wolf Mountain Vineyard to celebrate their future together on a sunny yet chilly day in November. The bride is of Spanish decent and wore a traditional mantilla and carried her Catholic rosary wrapped around the base of her bouquet. The bridesmaids wore shades of purple and brown. After the ceremony the party moved inside where there was salsa music and dancing. The couple ended the night making their getaway in an old army style jeep, and each guest departed with the gift of one "s'more" happy ending! Thank you both for a beautiful night!! :) Thank you Team Lytlefoto and Wolf Mountain Vineyards! xo (more...)

Rebecca + Ann: love, adoration, and marriage 2012-03-21

Rebecca and Ann's was my first same-sex wedding ceremony that I've ever photographed. When meeting with these two beautiful women, their genuine adoration and respect for the other was obvious. True love is hard enough to find...they had found it in each other and that is to be celebrated without stereotype. I stood, with camera in hand, as the groom's sister toasted her best friend and brought me to tears with a story of courage and redemption. This was the first time a speech has brought me to tears, and all I could feel was a love for life and standing tall in the face of adversity. I am so grateful to have been a part of their beautiful big day, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness together-to always have and to always hold. Elly B Events, what a wonderful and beautiful collection of details! xo (more...)
