Booked a hotel in italy for five nights which turned out to be 30 miles from where I was supposed to be and now have spent over 40 dollars and lots of time trying to get my refund for the other 4 nights. Now its been 3 days since i checked out and still now soluton to the problem.

I was very DISSATISFIED with hotels.com. If I could have I wouldn't give them any stars! I contacted them to rent 2 rooms at Myrtle Beach for a week in July and was quoted $1053.68. I asked if I could just pay for 1 nights stay for each room to hold the room and was told yes but I would be paying $1453.68 because I wasn't paying in full. I was told I would pay $102.20 per room. I asked 3 times during the conversation if my card would only be charged for 1 nights stay and was told yes. I received the confirmation e-mail and it said that my reservation had been paid in full. I checked my bank account and found it had been charged $1453.68. I called back and was told that they can't only charge for 1 room, they have to charge for the full amount so I had to cancel my reservation and was told it would take up to 2 days for my money to be reimbursed. It's funny how it can be taken right away but they can't take the hold off right away. Also, I was quoted the higher price because I couldn't pay right away but was billed right away. Why wasn't I charged for the discounted amount of $1053.68? Meanwhile my checking account will be in a mess!!!! By the way, I could barely understand anyone I got on the phone. They could barely speak English. I won't ever use hotels.com again!

What a joke of a company! I booked a hotel through them in a pinch... I thought i'd get the best price. Boy, was i wrong! What a rip off of a company. I booked online and then i went to reasearch what was around the area, i found the hotel again, clicked and went to rates - the hotels rates were cheaper. I promptly called Hotels.com, could barely understand the person on the other end (i guess it's not an American friendly employer), and was told that they couldn't "price match". I will never use this scam of a company again.
