It's A Piece Of Cake custom makes unique and beautiful cakes just for you. What you can expect from us is a peace of mind knowing that your cake tastes great and that it looks stunning. Our family takes pride in the personal service that we offer. We know that you are unique and don't deserve a frozen cake or the demands from a production cake company. Our bakery is located 25 miles south of Richmond, VA right off of Interstate 295 in Hopewell. We are pleased to service all of Virginia and parts of North Carolina, D.C. and Maryland. We are so excited to meet you and to help customize your cake.

Our staff is made up of members of our family. Susan Van Ness has the pleasure of baking the majority of our cakes. She has plenty of experience in baking and decorating cakes for friends and family over the years. She is the proud grandma of 10 grandchildren and makes time to be with them whenever she can. Mary Gough is one of Susan’s daughters. They enjoy working together and have spent many late nights decorating cakes. She loves to decorate and has an eye for detail and consistency. Mary is a mother of three and is greatly appreciative of her wonderful husband, Anthony. Anthony has helped with some of the 3-D and groom’s cakes. He also has endured the joys of traffic during the delivery and set-up process. Anthony also has taken the majority of the photos of our cakes and managed our website for many years. Mary and Susan have a certification through 3 Wilton Decorating Courses given at a local Michael’s Craft Store. They try to stay on top of the trends for cakes and want to make your cake the best that it can and should be. They see this business as an outlet of expression through cake and love, offering their expertise and ideas to personalize each cake.
