Stardust Cakes by Sara Pereira

Today I got together with an awesome up and coming cake designer Sara Pereira of Stardust Cakes. Only two years in existence, she is already making a name for herself in the wedding cake industry. I got to try one of her healthy wedding cakes called “The Sweetest Thing Wedding” and it was delicious. Images of the cake below.

January 3, 2010 – Morgan and Brian’s Winter Engagement Photos in New York City.
I am a little late in posting these engagement photos but better late than never! The engagement session began on one of those New York winter days where the thermometer outside read 20 degrees but if you were out walking around instead of nicely tucked in your home, it felt like 3 degrees. You definitely need to put your hands together and give it up for Morgan and Brian and their adorable dog, Joey as they braved the freezing cold weather and wind. We shot the engagement photos around the Museum of Natural History, one of my favorite places in the City. Below are some of my favorites.

Newborn Photography by Josh Wong – New York City

Today, I got a chance to schedule in some newborn photography. Even though I’m smack in the middle of doing my engagement photo sessions for my New York City Brides of 2010, how could you resist newborn photos. Newborns only stay at that age for a very short period of time. Hazel might not remember this day, but when she grows up and looks looks back at these photos, she’ll truly appreciate them. Enjoy!

New York Stock Exchange Engagement Photos
April 10, 2010
Today I met up with Lana and Tim for their New York City engagement photos. They were both dressed up in long dramatic black coats which made the session have an almost Matrix feel. Tim and Lana added the sunglasses and we created the sequel. We started off at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), wandered around the Financial District for a bit and made it to City Hall. From there we attempted to take the subway to Brooklyn but weekend subway schedules were all messed up. Finally after a long unsuccessful wait, we ended up taking a cab across. Once we got over there, we took some photos on the historic Brooklyn Bridge and finished up our photo session in DUMBO. All in all, the day was absolutely gorgeous. The temperature stayed in the mid 70s and Lana and Tim were a blast to hang out with! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this coming August! Below are some of my favorite photos of the day. Proposal at Rockefeller Center – Jessica and Bobby Engaged! Moves Like Jagger.

Being an event, wedding, and fashion photographer, I often have the privilege of photographing celebrities like Jessica Biel, Jay-Z and the Victoria Secret Angels. However, on this beautiful winter evening, Jessica and Bobby were the true celebrities. Their 15 minutes of fame happened on December 29, 2011 at the Rockefeller Ice Rink in New York City, two days before the massive New Year’s Eve Party at Times Square. This happens to be where Bobby decided to propose to girlfriend Jessica as they both visited the Big Apple for their first time and where Bobby dropped down on one knee, on an empty ice rink with several thousands of people watching and cheering.
Little did Jessica know what was happening and the effort that Bobby took to plan this trip for this special moment. Clearing out the ice rink on one busiest week of the year is no easy task. Having me there and preparing for the photos was not easy either as the massive amounts of people just get in the way. But Bobby had a clear plan and we made it happen. So when everything came to fruition with months of planning and to see Jessica’s expression and reaction…. PRICELESS.
And after the proposal, I took them on a little photo shoot around the city.
No wedding date set yet… But we may see each other again in Colorado. Enjoy the highlights below and Congratulations again to Jessica and Bobby!

Park Avenue Christian Church Wedding Photography – New York City
November 12, 2011
Today I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Lily and John. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Park Avenue Christian Church in New York City. This beautiful Christian Church lends itself long aisles, tall iconic standing spires influenced by the Gothic-styled La Sainte Chapelle in Paris, France. Rows and rows of candlelit dark black walnut pews illuminate the main room provided a truly intimate setting for Lily and John. The organ at the back of the church sits on the balcony facing the intricate stained glass work and has long standing pipes that create beautiful sounds that echo through the chambers of the main cathedral. Lily and John and their bridal parties both got ready at the church, albeit different floors and had their first look on the main lobby floor at the main entrance.
After the ceremony, all of Lily and John’s friends and family made their way down to the Golden Unicorn Restaurant in Chinatown for the dinner reception and where they really kick the party into high gear. The food was delicious. The dancing was even better. An awesome time for a truly awesome couple. Thanks for sharing the day with us. Here is a little montage of the day! Enjoy!

A Turks and Caicos Destination Wedding at the Amanyara Resort

Wedding of Katrina and Chris

Katrina and Chris’ 2-day destination wedding began on a balmy tropical evening at the super luxurious and uber-exclusive Amanyara Resort at the northwest point of the island of Providenciales, home of the famous Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos. The Amanyara Resort has hosted such notable guests as Prince and Lady Gaga. The evening began with a welcome dinner at the Beach Club where the guests feasted on an island barbecue with barbecued seafood, conch salad, tuna ceviche, coconut flan, banana spring rolls, while they were serenaded by a local Caribbean band. The night was complete with a bonfire by the beach. After the long night of celebration and dancing under the stars, the group headed back to Grace Bay.
The wedding day started early with the building of the wedding arch and platform for the beach wedding that were complete with fuschia kissing balls and white chiffon draping. And with that, the Amanyara lended all of its splendor and glory for all to see. From the infinity pool entrance to the private white sand beach, this wedding was one for the picture books and magazines. Katrina and Chris both had seperate villas to get ready in with the ceremony taking place on the beach. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, with Chris even being so excited he accidentally went in to kiss Katrina as she walked down the sandy aisle.
When it was all said and done, and when it was least expected… Everyone had a splash landing in the swimming pool. At one point they even tried to get me to jump in. What a great party! Enjoy!

Ashely and Dan
It’s been almost 2 years since I met Ashley and Dan in our initial meeting in Philly. Since then, we’ve always kept in contact through Facebook. But today has finally arrived! Ashley and Dan’s dream of their beautiful Fall wedding has come to fruition at the Northampton Valley Country Club in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. With the beginning of the New England Fall season, the changing of the leaves was a perfect backdrop for their wedding. Ashley’s best friends, two of whom were also named Ashley which completely threw me off at first, wore gorgeous chocolate brown bridesmaid dresses by Watters and Watters while Ashley herself wore a wedding dress by Casablanca Couture. Dan and his gang were awesome and fun to be with. Made my job too easy! Before the wedding, we went to Tyler Park to take some bridal party photos. Tyler State Park was absolutely stunning at this time of year. The different shades of fall leaves were absolute perfection. After the park, we headed back to the Northampton to prepare for the ceremony and the evening reception. This day went by absolutely too fast! Thanks for sharing this day with me. Nilam and Anand’s Hindu Indian Wedding at Adelphia, Deptford, New Jersey

I’ve come full circle with Nilam and Anand. I’ve been with them every step of the way. From Anand’s fabulous surprise marriage proposal to Nilam in Central Park, to their official engagement session in the Boston Commons and Charles River, to their beautiful mendhi ceremony at Nilam’s parents home and finally to their beautiful Hindu Indian wedding at the Aldelphia in Deptford, New Jersey. It’s been a special ride. Along the way I’ve met some fantastic people and feel as though I’m a part of their extended family and I have been truly blessed with their kindness and hospitality. Capturing these special moments and especially their wedding moments has been such a privilege. Nilam and Anand’s wedding was truly amazing and had some truly unforgettable memories.
