A few more pictures from the wedding and reception — the day was full of varied locations, wonderful fun loving people and family.
I can’t help but add one more from the Wistariahurst Museum. Truly a photographer’s delight.

The festivities continued onto the Williston Northampton where Lis went to school.

Here she is in a rather stylized photo, just before she walks down the aisle.

There seems to be complete satisfaction and joy in both of them after their vows.

A beautiful chapel and then on to the ringing of the bell.

The Reception at the Log Cabin at Mount Tom. Spectacular views and some of the most organized and attentive staff I’ve ever seen. And yes, there wasn’t much left on my plate.
Love this tradition of bread, salt and wine. This is the kind of ritual that means so much .

Lindsay had me in tears with the toast to her sister. I want a brick from Fenway, too.

Soul Sensations-these guys know how to rock the dance floor. And they are pretty funny too

Random reception moments

Sorority Sisters!

We waited until sunset for one more walk around time with the girls and guys. I was so touched with the obvious affection they all had towards each other. Genuine and close friends. A real pleasure to spend the day with. Thank you all.

Special thanks to both families for your warmth, hospitality and good humor. You have wonderful children and we enjoyed spending the day with you all tremendously.
And thanks again to Norm for keeping me on track and relatively sane. No easy task.

(good thinking Stephanie!

Lis and Jason
Wisteriahurst Museum
Williston-Northampton School
The Log Cabin
I was so excited when I first met Lis and Jason — getting married in my birthplace and that my Mom went to school at Northampton when it was all girls. It really was old home week for me at that meeting. That Jason is an avid fantasy football player was a big bonus. We had a great engagement session in the fall-they were so relaxed I knew it was going to be great. That, and I got the scoop and who to be picking for the football league
They really liked the idea of a First Look before the actual ceremony and found the perfect spot for it at the Wisteriahurst Museum in Holyoke. Fabulous architecture, gorgeous floors, huge open rooms. And a staircase that was made for our purposes.
For a first look we keep the bride and groom separated and arrange for the ‘meeting’. The anticipation is still there but the stress that sometimes comes with seeing your bride/groom in front of 100s of people is greatly reduced. Plus it’s a bunch of fun, we have time afterwards for portraits and even getting the family formals done right away — then after the ceremony it’s immediately onto the reception!
I LOVE Jason’s big smile of anticipation!

Lis owned that staircase. I love the raw emotion once they hugged.

The Music Room. Incredible Light, and a huge Ball Room.
And then the sitting room for some Bridal Party Portraits. But First one with Lis who has the most beautiful profile.

Lis and Jason said they had great attendants — FUN! people. They weren’t exaggerating. I think there should be a flip book with these sequences. The girls must have been practicing their expressions. I nearly died laughing then and again when going thru the images.

This was SUCH FUN!
A few details.
Jason’s Mom did all the flowers. Amazing TALENT!

Lis’s Grandfather’s tie and her Grandmother’s Pin. Stuff like this chokes me up.
Not to make this really long, I’m going to continue this tomorrow. Take up with the ceremony and reception.
It really was an incredible fun, emotional day.
Thanks for reading this far, and come’on back tomorrow

Sarah and Todd’s Wedding at A Cardinal House
Glastonbury, CT
Sarah and Todd decided to make their wedding a very intimate affair with only family present to share in their day. The venue they chose was a perfect setting, A Cardinal House, a lovely Bed and Breakfast owned and operated by the Lapore family. A welcoming ‘home’ for small intimate weddings, teas, and showers.

Sara’s dress —all the buttons! With little bitty ‘hooks’. The Moms did a great job keeping them all lined up.

And a happy smile, when the veil is on.

A serious moment, just before the ceremony.

Sarah and her Dad, who was very helpful to me, and actually put his own camera down, for a while. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to do the same next October.

A private moment for Sarah and Todd during the ceremony. They must have been sharing a private telepathy — I love the look they are giving each other.

And in a day of important moments, the family images are right up there. Especially when the families are as charming as those gathered.

And a few moments of walk around time. My favorite time of a wedding day. No stress! relax and play.

What little girl hasn’t dreamed about twirling around in circles in her wedding dress?

I think Todd liked my idea for this shot. Biggest smile for me

And their very own jacuzzi. I couldn’t help myself

Thank you both again! The day was wonderful, you got the wedding that you wanted and may your days be blessed.

Pinups in Northeastern Connecticut!
Jen was fabulous the other day — she came with full costume from the wonderfully talented Cathy Schora who also provided the mink! I haven’t seen one like this since we cleaned out my great grandmother’s attic! Jen’s hat came from Glimpse of Gaia here in Putnam (and if you’ve never been in you NEED to go!)
So we’ve been trying to get this session on the calendar for about 2 months, and we had so much fun we’re going to finish it up next week. What makes a successful session like this is the expression, the exaggeration, the willingness to embrace the far side of your personality that sometimes is hidden deep inside. Jen has it all. More to come from these session later.
We decided to do about 3 different types of clothing, this one (and the next one) concentrating a little on the Vargas type expression and processing.

It feels great to have had such a busy winter at the studio and meeting with brides for this year and next. But it kinda means I haven’t kept up here… Lots of sessions listed on Facebook so come on over and check it out.
Working on some really cool ideas for packages this summer, so give me a shout, above under Contact and let’s get a date on the calendar. Seriously, summer and fall weekend are almost completely booked so it’s NOT too early to be thinking about Family pictures or your Senior for next year.
