KL Phy Photography ( formerly Puckett ) specializes in artful wedding, engagement, family portraiture and event coverage in Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding region. I am also available for domestic and international travel for destination weddings and events.

I have been shooting weddings for nearly 15 years, when I began second shooting with photographers around the Louisville region. My undergraduate major was fine art, with a concentration in photography. By shooting weddings, engagements, and events with already established and successful photographers, I gained a lot of valuable professional experience in addition to the creative and technical knowledge from my college courses. After graduation, I interned with one of the leading commercial photographers in the nation, where I was exposed to almost any set of challenges and situations that could be imagined. All of these professional learning experiences, combined with my background in art, prepared me to start up my own photography business almost 7 years ago.

My business started out under the name KL Puckett Photography, but with a recent re-branding, new logo, and website, is now transitioning to the name KL Phy Photography. Incorporating my unique maiden name into my business helps to set my brand apart in the nationwide market, and also is a reflection of my unique style and personality.

Having the privilege to preserve the memories of one of the happiest and most important times in my client’s lives is a great honor. From the initial consultation, throughout the time planning, and then shooting the engagement session and wedding, my clients become friends with whom I often stay in touch with for years afterwards. I love shooting a couple’s wedding, only to be called back down the road to photograph their new baby, or another family member’s wedding.
